Hi, can anyone point me in the correct direction of using svgs to display pins on the map? I've attempted but haven't gotten anything to display, if I do the sizing is wildly incorrect.

as of right not I've been putting the icon name in a feature i display on the map
icon: iconName

this is the icon styles I've been using
const styles = { icon: { iconImage: ['get', 'icon'], iconAllowOverlap: true, iconSize: .8, iconAnchor: 'bottom', }, };

and then in the MapView i declare images such as:
<MapboxGL.Images images={{ flag, pin, iconName}} />

i appreciate any feed back and thank you!

Hello everyone, i need help to show the compass on my map.
This is my code:

        render() {
            return (

Hi does anyone have any experience with wrapping the mapbox sprite api into react-native compoenents that can be rendered elsewhere. Essentially, I'd like to take a custom sprite file json/png I have, get a specific icon from it then render some text like a route label on top of it. I'd like to use it in other components for displaying what route a user is currently on etc. I've never messed with sprites other than I did the custom ones for my style, so I may be just not googling correclty! Thanks in advance! :)

:point_up: Edit: Can anyone help me on map libre, Can we develop react native android with maplibre(using java script) or only we have to integrate native SDK and need to code ios/android native respectively.

As official doumentation says"MapLibre is an OSS fork of MapboxGL. This is the default, and should work without any changes in gradle files."

So if we install map box package using
1.npm install rnmapbox/maps#main --save

If we will not change anything in gradle file and if we use the sample demo code with public access token, then it will treat as mablibre(open source) or map box, Please help me on this.

import React, { Component } from 'react';
import { StyleSheet, View } from 'react-native';
import MapboxGL from '@react-native-mapbox-gl/maps';

MapboxGL.setAccessToken('<YOUR_ACCESSTOKEN>');

export default class App extends Component {
render() {
return (
<View style={styles.page}>
<View style={styles.container}>
<MapboxGL.MapView style={styles.map} />
</View>
</View>
);
}

Hi, I have a question about filters with layers.
I have a json style, here it's a few lines

      {
          "id": "indoor-name",
          "type": "symbol",
          "source": "indoor",
          "source-layer": "area_name",
          "filter": [
              "all"
          ],
          "layout": {
              "text-field": [
                  "get",
                  "name"
              ],
              "text-max-width": 5,
              "text-size": 14
          },
          "paint": {
              "text-color": "#666",
              "text-halo-color": "#ffffff",
              "text-halo-width": 1
          }
      }
  ] ....

How can i get the layer generated from json? I want to apply additional filters, but I don't know how to do without remove from json and adding SymbolLayer on my code directly

Hey guys, I would like to contribute to this repo (especially for the v10 migration stuff), and was wondering if there is a "how to contribute" guide, any PR guideline, how do you split the work. Thanks in advance!
Another question: any maintainer was able to negotiate some kinds of "voucher" with mapbox for their work on this package?

Hello everyone looking for some help regarding the styleURL attribute from the MapView component. When I try doing the following:
<MapboxGL.MapView styleURL="mapbox://styles/mapbox/streets-v11/>
I am met with the error detailing "loading style failed: unsupported URL". Not sure where to go from here as I am currently stuck with the default multicolored map with no actual street features, city names, etc.

Hi people! I'm new a newbie with rnmapbox. How can I add a 3d model on the map, to mark the location of the user? And when the user moves, the model works. I did some research, but based on the information I found. You have to make a custom layer. Does react-native-mapbox-gl allow this feature? Thank you in advance :)

hey guys! I've been trying to build an app usingrnmapbox and everything works but I've really been struggling to reduce application load times. Specifically, I'm crashing on some IOS targets because of a watchdog timeout (!) but I'm not really sure of what causes the timeout. The bundle size is about 3.0 MB which doesn't sound like it should be large enough to make an application stall for over 20+ seconds to trigger the watchdog on IOS... any advice is welcome!

Hello everyone! I have the same question as in: rnmapbox/maps#901
Any way to calculate the size of an offline pack before downloading it? At least an approximation
Broda Noel
@BrodaNoel
I am seen that i will really depends on the style we want to load (vector tiles), but, any clue?
I am seeing this, for a rastered tile (jpg70, @2x):
  • Big ones are about 95kb
  • Small ones are about 15kb
  • Average is about 45kb
Broda Noel
@BrodaNoel
I opened the Studio Mapbox in my desktop, and checked the network tab at zoom ~13, and I also see requests around 45kb
Finally, I checked with the "Mapbox offline tile count estimator" the amount of tiles I have in my city (600), and checked on Google Maps how many MB will take to storage it as "offline map" and it also takes ~45kb per tile (27MB in total).
Could we say the average per tile, in regular regions (cities, no ocean), is around 45kb per tile? That information would be good enough for me
