One of the closed issues around api limits had a thread where someone was successfully checking Robinhood prices for about 20 stocks (I think?) every 3 seconds.
We can implement this info in a wiki
@jasonleehodges I will look for this info. @Jamonek this will be great. I am not at your level of knowledge but if there is anything I can help with please let me know.
@Jamonek any update on the continuous integration stuff?
Do I need to get an invite to Robinhood's API (and a key or something) to use this, or is my username/password sufficient?
Un and passwd are enough
But 2fa is better to be disabled.
hello everyone, I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this question I just have a question about Robinhood, does anyone know why the timestamps on orders are inconsistent? For example sometimes an order created at 9:30am EST is marked 13:30, sometimes it is marked 14:30 when you export your orders to a CSV file. Does anybody know why this is and how to tell what the actual time is?
I see the login function is not working any more. Any clue?
Seems like they’ve changed authentication methods. There is some chatter in the issues tab and maybe even some pull requests out there that need to be reviewed to correct this.
Can someone look into the options 404 issue I created? I feel like someone who knows about reverse engineering the api can do it. Thanks!
@edPratt I’m merging today
stupid RH side question: the /midlands/news/ endpoint is coming back empty. I've spelunked the sources, and everything still points to it being valid (tried rh web->source)
tried using the new login pattern, and still with Authorization headers, the JSON comes back empty
Hello everyone! I was working on a tiny project to understand my patterns on moving money to/from RH -- and I noticed that this library kind of lacked an ACH transfers history API. I opened a new PR (Jamonek/Robinhood#163) and am hoping someone can take a look at it. Thanks!
Hey, thank you. I’ll review the PR now
@Jamonek the pip install does not have a package to install listed on the docs, only a single period. Don't know if im missing something orr....??
Hey everyone. Does anyone use anilshanbhag/RobinhoodShell#22 ? Could a Python speaker please help me update the repo to fix the recent login/2FA barrier? Either by requiring an additional input with QR code, or 2FA verification from SMS/email (which I am pulling in near-realtime via an IMAP listener daemon)?
Generally it would be fabulous if other projects already addressing this, like westonplatter/fast_arrow#85 and aurbano/robinhood-node#100 , had some way to export(serialize) the user authentication tokens into a .json file, in a project-independent format, which could then be imported into other projects at the login layer, once that import/deserialize code is also written.
Good Morning, I recently stumbled on this repo, and have a question that may or may not be a dumb question. I was trying to launch the example.py to start understanding the structure more indepth of the program and was curious what the syntax was correctly in the username ="xxxx" and password = "xxxx" fields. I tried various differences using my information and kept receiving the same failed login prompt. Best
I believe Robinhood restricted their API as of 3 months ago.
@Jamonek i believe you had a post somewhere regarding ^^^
So is this project dead now?
I’d love for someone to take over
I don’t have the time to maintain the project
@Jamonek no I mean in terms of the status of the RH API, per @kenny.wright_gitlab 's post ^^
Hello folks. Can this library handle the crypto tickers as well?
@jmyers350 I'm like six months late, but in relation to being able to log in, I had the same problem with the quickstart. I changed where my username and password were from the robinhood declaration to the rh.login function call, and it worked fine.
Just looked through the issues on GitHub, and I see there's crypto on the roadmap. Thanks for making this, it's a fun first 'real' Python project for me!
Hi, is anyone available?
@adithyabsk I just tried running this for the first time and got a "No 2FA Given" message. I know the email and password were correct because I received an email from robinhood with a 6 digit code, then entered the code, and then got this message
^ same here
Enter your email code in the console
try installing from master. there maybe issues in the latest release
How do I get a readout of how many users are currently holding a stock? Also how do I get a historic readout of how many users are holding a stock? Ty
AttributeError: 'Robinhood' object has no attribute 'endpoints'
anyone else ever got this? might be doing something wrong
i am experiencing the same error as @dtdannen
no matter how you try to sign in it will prompt you for a 2FA even if your supply it directly in the init() method
ive tried with multiple releases and different robinhood accounts and still get stuck with the same error, it will say a 2FA is needed (with or without qr code given) but no email is sent to any accounts
Hey guys, I disabled my 2FA and logged into RH with challenge_type="sms". I got a text notification once I logged in (which I expected) but I was surprised to see it was from Mobile Safari UI/WKWebView (iOS), is normal behavior?
Nvm. I see the user agent is set to iOS 7.1.2 in the __init__ method. I am still a little confused as to why there is a client_id hard-coded in robinhood.py.
