I tried to add the human-detection repo as a component into my current robocomp installation. I had to move the resources folder into src for these lines
from resources.centroidtracker import CentroidTracker from resources.trackableobject import TrackableObject in specificworker.py.I also changed the url in the config to point to a mjpeg file hosted locally (via simplehttpserver).
Now I am able to reach till the detecting state. However I am getting an error at this line in specificworker.py people = self.peopleserver_proxy.processImage(im, 1). I am guessing that this is because the config file doesnt have a "PeopleServerProxy" hence the error AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'processImage'. Any ideas on what "PeopleServerProxy" should be set to in the config file?

@GarvTambi You're missing the Ice Compiler and your using anaconda python.
sudo apt install zeroc-ice-all-runtime
pip3 install python3-zeroc-ice
Use the above line to install the Ice compiler and then reset the python environmental vaiable to default python.

@GarvTambi As said by @Vishwaak you have to set python variable to default python and not anaconda. In your error messages we can still see /home/garv/anaconda3/lib/python3.7.

It's still pointing to the anaconda python . You need to remove the path from your path varaiable and poin it back to systems default python
echo $PATH
remove /home/garv/anaconda3/lib/python3.7 from path varaible .
export PATH= the edited path
Restart you system , then try to recompile
