    Hello, I am Khyati Agarwal. I am a second-year undergraduate in Computer Sience Engineering, at the IIT, Mandi. I have good knowledge of git, Python, flask, C/C++, Java, opencv and databasese like mongodb, sql. I have worked on many robotic project like Self-balancing , remote controlled and on various sesonrs. I'm really interested in contributing to the robocomp.Robocomp is successfully installed in my system. Can someone guide me on how to start expressing and contributing to the Robocomp?
    Thank you.

    @khyati18 you can jump to tutorials and start creating new components. Also, you could contribute by pointing out issues and solving them.

    Hi, I am Dipanwita, second year B.Tech from IIIT Hyderabad. I'm skilled in Python, git, Unity and Javascript. I have also contributed to some open-source projects. I'm working in the Robotics Lab in my college currently, and have taken some courses on photogrammetry, Machine Learning and Path Planning. I am eager to learn and contribute to Robocomp and have started exploring the codes in the GitHub repository. Could someone guide me if I can take up existing issues or get issues assigned to me?

    Hello @susiejojo. You'll find a list of open issues in https://github.com/robocomp/robocomp/issues

    hello everyone ! I'm a beginner to open source , and I would like to get some pointers to contribute here.

    @ljmanso
    The first thing would be familiarising with the project, installing RoboComp and following the tutorials. Once you've done that, you can take a look at the current issues published in the RoboComp repository: https://github.com/robocomp/robocomp/issues If you have any doubts just ask in the issue itself, around here, or in the robocomp-gsoc chatroom if it's GSoC-related

    also is there no way to work on this with ubuntu 16.04?
    Esteban Martinena Guerrero
    @orensbruli
    Hello @darthgera123 As you can see in the main page of robocomp documentation: "Note: RoboComp is not compatible with Ubuntu 16.04. RoboComp needs to be compiled using C++11. Ice libraries with C++11 support are only available for zeroc-ice 3.7 and the packages for this version are only available since Ubuntu 18.04."

    Hello everyone! I am Yash Kulkarni. I am a final year computer engineering student from VIT Pune. I am glad to be a part of this community. I will start with the installation process right away. :)
    @darthgera123 ...By using Ubuntu 16.04 I faced lot of problems in the build process of the code when I was following the steps last year. I tried the installation process again with Ubuntu 18.04 and the I was able to see the expected rotating robot output on the screen.
    Please go with the Ubuntu 18.04 only.

    I find the idea fascinating of developing software mention in idea no.3, "Randomly generation and storage of the graph-based world representation used in RoboComp" as I find it to have a large scale application. I have prior worked on some of the related projects I would also like to share a relatable work to the idea as my industrial experience, Graph Neural Network-based software to find missing components from over a physical architecture (electric towers).

    @shaistha24

    Hello Everyone! I am Shaistha Fathima from India. Currently, MCA 2nd yr student. I am interested in total 4 project ideas listed on the idea page but would like to interact with the mentors to cut it down to one or two proposals. Is it ok to contact the mentors directly for such cases?

    Another question: I would like to begin making contributions to the RoboComp, could you please suggest any good issues wrt to the GSOC. Thank you.

    A little amount me:
    I am AI and Cybersecurity enthusiast with my interest mainly inclining towards computer vision, signal processing, federated learning, and differential privacy. It's mostly self-learned also, I have completed my Computer Vision Nanodegree from Udacity (scholarship as per SPAI challenge) and currently enrolled in Advanced Data Science with IBM Coursera course. My most recent project - group project is (part of Udacity Intel Edge challenge) on speaker diariazation and user segmentation using Kaldi.

    @1byxero

    I am graduate student at Indiana University, pursuing computer science with specialization in AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. I work as a research assistant at IU and my research focuses on domain of graph neural networks. I have good deep learning background and have done some projects! I also have been learning computer vision(deep learning as well as the traditional techniques) this semester. I am working on 3d semantic segmentation problem currently for a computer vision course.
    I am looking forward to contribute to one of the projects from following list

    1. Efficient acceptable social behaviour using machine learning techniques
    2. Hand gesture recognition
    3. DNN’s for precise manipulation of household objects
    4. Integration of an emotion recognition component in RoboComp

    I hope I am not late to this party!
    I will have a look at these ideas, contact the mentors!
    Everyone stay safe during these times of pandemic!
