I'd love to contribute somehow, but I don't know ANTLR and honestly don't have a lot of time to learn

No worries, I think we are passed the majority of the rough-in work for the parser, and now it's tweaks and bug fixes.

Very nice
I think this is a step for RPG to become a bit more open

you still interested in an interpreter?
Liam Allan

Apr 13 2015 13:05
Yeah, of course. For some reason I find all my time is being taken up so it's limiting how much time I can spare to do it - but I am really interesting in one that doesn't change the language much - where Visual RPG does change the language a little bit
interested* sorry I'm at work still, busy day today

Cool. we can start kicking the interpreter idea around a bit. over the next few days/weeks.
maybe pick the language subset we want to start with... etc.

Sounds good. I have about 16 pages of notes for it already - probably mostly useless stuff but it's all about type conversion and so on
And yeah, I presume we'd do it in Java?

well.. Antlr gens parsers in a handful of target languages. but Java seems like a good choice.
it plays nice with embedded languages.
