anyway, i got around it by just changing the code in the browser
i just went to "inspect element", found the "Convert tokens" button, and removed the
disabled text from this html element
<button id="deposit" type="submit" class="btn btn-primary ml-3 mt-3 mb-3" disabled="">Convert tokens</button>, then i clicked it and it Metamask popped up and allowed me to convert my USDT to rUSDT, and tx was successful
So - because ETH transactions are so damn expensive I believe the RSK Bridge is only for rich people, am I wrong?
I am playing around and want to send 1000 USDT to use on Sovryn. So there are three fees: 0.2% of whatever tokens that are send, then there is the approve fee, and then there is another fee, which is the convert fee. So transferring 1000 USDT, with the current fees leaves me with less than 960 USDT. That's 4%.
So in reality the "important details" regarding fees at the bottom of the page are just bollocks, considering the amount the user has to pay for the Ethereum fees. And no where can I see before hand that I have pay double fees to even do a conversion, first the approve, and then the convert. That's really bad UX and on top of things, stinks.
Why should "normal" people use this?
approvetx and then another one, much more expensive, for the
converttx. Currently, I can see this a big stopper for people who would like to use, for example, USDT on the RSK network. For sure, it's not an issue for whales sending transactions that are $10000 and over, but for the small time user it may come as a shock.
