But when I run npm start, it gives me Client requires an Account SID and Auth Token set explicitly or via the TWILIO_ACCOUNT_SID and TWILIO_AUTH_TOKEN environment variables
Since the error occurs in node_modules/twilio/lib/Client.js:22, I added console.log(process.env) to where SID and TOKEN were required
But didn't find any of the variables set in .env
Seems like that file doesn't read the .env file
Anyone has an idea how to solve this?
    ok never mind, I just read that I should change dotenv.load({ path: '.env.example' });
hey guys, http://hackathonstarter-sahat.rhcloud.com/ seems to be down
    Kuriakin Zeng

btw, does anyone know why the code in js/main.js doesn't get compiled when I run npm start?
it's in the one in public folder. should I run some special command?
    Kuriakin Zeng
    ok got it
    there's cache.

    hello all
    Nuno Ribeiro
Hi. I'm wondering about how to use my own mail server with hackathon starter... is there a way to .env it or must I hack through?
    Arthur Tkachenko
@nmpribeiro I think you cannot do what do you want via .env file. I propose you to create second file at 'config' folder, name it secret(example). On this file you must add nodemail settings in array-like way. You can find more information at nodemail tutorial. as simple example, please open this file and see nodemail options for SendGrid email server: https://github.com/sahat/hackathon-starter/blob/master/controllers/contact.js#L3
You also can get an idea by looking at my project: https://github.com/atherdon/stripe-recurring-membership/blob/easymail/server/config/secrets.js#L23
    Take care

Hey guys, i have packaged this hackathon-starter boilerplate (Node.js + MongoDB) running as microservices in the same kubernetes cluster. Check it out here. It wouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to get this deployed on a cloud server.
Would love your thoughts/feedback on this for improvements.
Hello, have a question please can we use this starter with another database?
    Tobias Lundgren
@micko75 yes you can just modify the server to use another database for your app.

    Hey guys
I'm building a project with your starter for the backend and vue as the frontend . I'm gonna use your starter only for API authentication. For this purpose, will passport.js help me as I'm gonna use multiple role based login?
    Please help
Hi there, I am wondering if you can add WeChat to passport.
Can anyone help me with setting up GetStream.io to this?
Or any other respectable newfeed application

Hello world, I am looking for intro to front-end side of hackaton-starter.
@matkoklaic hackathon-starter is a boilerplate to Nodejs apps (which are back-end) you have to add your own front-end (which is really easy). Numerous tutorials on web about that.

    Hello Guys
Whcih DB does the template use?
    Dale V Ross
@redlinecodes I'd say it's a Full Stack solution including Express. He might be interested in knowing how to modify pug templates, views etc.

@harshamv_twitter MongoDB - you'll notice it's using Mongoose, which is a node.js library for working with MongoDB.
    @jamesnoosh There's already a strategy for WeChat, no? http://www.passportjs.org/packages/passport-wechat/

    hey hows it going room
I'm stuck on trying to install the deps for this project?
its throwing a GYP error due to the fact that I have python 2.78 and 3.10 installed and it's whining about Node-Sass
Tried updating packages thru NCU but it just kept throwing more errors. Ideas?

Hey all, loooong time dev working on side project, just discovered this repo, which has a lot of what I'm looking for. I know JS lets you go fast, but I've found that even in a one-man project, a compiler catches errors effectively. Any chance there's a TypeScript edition of it?
