No worries.

I just published a post, Seeking refuge from unsafe JavaScript. It tells the story of how we came to use Ramda at Plaid, and the events which led to the creation of Sanctuary.

(You may like to give :heart: on HN.)

@ChetHarrison
@davidchambers nice post

Great article, David. There's a real clarity to your prose. It's a pity that the sort of post on HN that generally gets attention is of the type 'Why I hate X and you're a moron if you don't hate it too'.
David Chambers
@davidchambers
Haha, yeah.

@gilligan
@davidchambers nice. Also the plaid blog looks absolutely gorgeous

The design team at Plaid is small but very talented.

I'm excited to welcome @scott-christopher to the Sanctuary team! Scott is also a member of the Ramda team, his patches are of consistently high quality, he knows a lot about functional programming, and he's good at explaining FP concepts.

just when i thought here I would not be surrounded by people that solve problems in Haskell faster when drunk at 3am in the morning than I can on my best days, sober at noon .... ;)

I left one final comment on #192, @svozza. I'll let you decide which definition you prefer. Let me know your preference. If you prefer the current definition, I'll go ahead and merge this.
Stefano Vozza
@svozza
all good! now for s.map... ;)

Are there any "jump in" articles about sanctuary ?
Tobias Pflug
@gilligan
like for sanctuary in specific?
or on broader terms - FP in JS
hm.. @davidchambers recently published a nice article about sanctuary on the plaid blog
probably not what you are looking for though. Not sure
Risto Novik
@riston
ill take a look
when you don't have FP background in some other language haskell etc, it's kinda hard to map these concepts
Tobias Pflug
@gilligan
true - but i suppose no Sanctuary documentation could sufficiently fill that gap
Tobias Pflug
@gilligan
@kedashoe are you around by any chance?
Kevin Wallace
@kedashoe
@gilligan yo
Tobias Pflug
@gilligan
@kedashoe hey there - i was playing around with your babel plugin before.
@kedashoe ran into some issue when I defined my own type const Foo = $.EnumType = [ ... and used that in a signature because it defaults to look up types in $ i suppose. After adding it to $.env it still failed but I had to switch context to work on some other stuff so I don't know if I maybe just screwed up
Kevin Wallace
@kedashoe
that sounds like something i may not have gotten to yet
Tim Navrotskyy
@dypsilon
Hi everyone, I consider using Sanctuary in production code. What is the status of the project? In other words do I have to expect bugs, memory leaks and other problems?
Kevin Wallace
@kedashoe
let me play around with it for a bit
Tobias Pflug
@gilligan
@kedashoe alright
Kevin Wallace
@kedashoe
ya, i did not attempt to account for user defined types.. i'll take a quick stab at it
Tobias Pflug
@gilligan
sweet
@kedashoe i really hope to find time to contribute to that plugin at some point ;}
Kevin Wallace
@kedashoe
contributions most welcome :) i realize more documentation would help
so that is something i definitely need to do
i pushed up the new version
it is something of a hack
as i am explicitly checking for 'Maybe' and 'Either'
but
