    @Drenerdo
    Thank you sir

    @JoshuaDeaton
    Did something change with the plugin? I've tried installing with and without sudo and using the -g and I still get the following error when trying to start my server: Module._extensionsextension;
    node-bleacon is the only required variable in the server

    @JoshuaDeaton can you provide more details please

    Do you know if this module would work with react-native to create an android app?
    I think you can just add npm modules to the app, but im still learning how it works.
    Christopher Dro
    @christopherdro
    @httpNick: that’s actually something @jacobrosenthal and I are working on
    don’t have android support yet but im starting to look into as we speak
    theres also a few other roadbumps that needs to clear out so we can make full use of these libraries across native
    Nick Duncan
    @httpNick
    Okay thank you.
    Is that true though? I know in the package.json file for my first react-native project just requires react-native, but is it possible to add additional ones say like Q and use it within the javascript files?
    Christopher Dro
    @christopherdro
    as long as additional ones don’t rely on native node modules it should be fine
    Nick Duncan
    @httpNick
    native node modules? Like fs, events and other ones that come with node? Is that what that means?
    Christopher Dro
    @christopherdro
    yup
    Nick Duncan
    @httpNick
    Oh I see. Why is that? Because node isn't installed on the phone?
    Christopher Dro
    @christopherdro
    although there are options for fs and events through React Native
    i suggest joining the irc or slack channel for react native
    Nick Duncan
    @httpNick
    Do you possibly have a link? Thank you for answering my questions sorry it got outside of the scope
    Christopher Dro
    @christopherdro
    or to join slack: https://reactiflux.slack.com/

    @httpNick
    Thank you, and how can I get an invite to the slack group?
    I tried signing in, but it looks like I need an invite.

    Hi, I'm having some problems getting bleacon example code to work on my RPI2. Should this work?
    var Bleacon = require('bleacon');
    Bleacon.startScanning();
    console.log("Starting...");
    Bleacon.on('discover', function(bleacon) {
    console.log("found beacon");
    });
    Sandeep Mistry
    @sandeepmistry
    @perja12 yes, please open an issue on Github with debug logs: sudo DEBUG=* node <file>.js
    Per Thomas Jahr
    @perja12
    Thanks. The extra debug showed that the adapter was down. So "sudo hciconfig hci0 up" made it work again :-)

    @perja12 cool!

    Hi All - has anyone been able to get the temperature and beacon name from a Gimbal beacon in iBeacon mode?
    Sandeep Mistry
    @sandeepmistry
    @andresvidal I think I've been able to get both in non-ibeacon mode
    using noble
    Andres Vidal
    @andresvidal
    @sandeepmistry
    @sandeepmistry did you use default gimbal profiles? I'm excited of the possibilities their beacons offer at those great prices :)
    Andres Vidal
    @andresvidal

    @sandeepmistry can you explain how you got this? @Drenerdo turns out I don't have a code snippet, but here's a summary of my findings:

    "960C4A 9B-244C-11E2-B299-00A0C60077AD" represents:
    Battery level = 0xa - 8 = 2
    8 is the fixed offset
    Temperature = 0x9b - 70 = 85 °F
    70 is the fixed offset

    "8C00453659EC9C476B84CE" is the payload that is looked up in the cloud service (0x008c is the Gimbal Company ID).
    If you modify https://github.com/sandeepmistry/noble/blob/master/examples/advertisement-discovery.js to start scanning with duplicates, you can use the above info to extract battery level and temp
    the 0x8c.... is the value of the manufacturer data

    Sandeep Mistry
    @sandeepmistry
    @andresvidal yes that matches my notes
