@dereneaton - FYI, the documentation is mostly silent on this, but there are two ways to specify bars in Toyplot: using magnitudes, and using boundaries.
If you set baseline=None, then you must provide N+1 data series to specify the boundaries for N series of stacked bars.
If you set baseline=“stacked” (the default), then N data series specify the magnitudes for N series of stacked bars.

You can also use baseline=“symmetrical” or baseline=“wiggle” to create the bar equivalent of stream graphs.
Finally, you can explicitly specify values for the baseline yourself.
Last-but-not-least, fill graphs work the same way (and make more sense for stream graphs, if that’s what you’re into).
