Toyplot 0.14.0 Released - it’s been too long, but this is probably the biggest single change I’ve made to the Toyplot implementation yet, and it was a grind. In a nutshell, Toyplot is now doing all of the parsing, layout, and rendering for text, instead of relying on the rendering backend. This makes writing backends easier, but the real win is that we get consistent text layout across all backends - so there should not be any differences in layout between Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE, PDF, or PNG. This also makes it possible to extend rich text support in new ways, such as embedding markers in text or embedding LaTeX. As usual, you can get a full set of details at http://toyplot.readthedocs.io/en/stable/release-notes.html - enjoy!
