We'll actually need some kind of hook in 1.0 to be able to do that
technically we should be using buildLoader but those are flaky
and also going away in 1.0
but we need that mechanism (a non-flaky version) for this use case

Hi
I have a play application
and I want to push rpm to artifactory via pom.xml
Can any one please guide how to read pom in this case use mvn deploy
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
@metasim Please pardon the intrusion, but should I have run a release after the sbt 1.x stuff was merged? I can help if there's more work to be done, I'd just like to transition back to a publicly hosted version of this plugin so I can stop maintaining my own build
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
@blast-hardcheese Good question. It's been so long since I've worked on this that I'll have to re-remember how to release it. I'll see what I can do today.
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
@metasim There's (fortunately) steps to release in the docs directory, but it presumes you have all the signing keys and bintray credentials already
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
I should have all that.
Just noticing that I started on a release a while ago but got distracted.
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
:smile:
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
The sad thing is that there's a release/2.1.0-RC2 that's over 1.5 years old where I attempted to upgrade the Maven, Wagon, and Aether libraries.
I just realized that it might not work for most versions of sbt
I've not done the cross compile thing with plugins before.
@blast-hardcheese You know anything about cross-relesing sbt plugins?
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
@metasim I looked into it, there's some support for it already -- I think I described some approaches in my PR

sbt/sbt-pom-reader#43
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
oh, awesome!
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
I'm available to help, just ping me :)
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
So it will generate version for 1.x and 0.13.x?
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
I think so, let me see
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
What I published earlier looked like it was for 1.x
(and scala 2.12)
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
Yeah -- http://www.scala-sbt.org/1.0/docs/Cross-Build-Plugins.html permits cross-publishing to sbt 1.x from 0.13.x
so a path forward is to set up https://github.com/dwijnand/sbt-compat, downgrade to sbt 0.13.x, then setting up the Cross-Build-Plugins stuff
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
What's the deal with the CLA notice? You have to email something in?
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
Yeah, I completed it though.
I had to re-accept it since they changed the CLA between when I contributed to Play and now
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
gotcha
Would you be willing to see if you can publishLocal both 1.x and 0.13.x version?
I'd dive right into this too but I'm on deadline. :/
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
seems only fair, as I'm the one that needs it
yeah, not a concern
I'll aim for something in the next few weeks -- I've got an internal repo I can publish JARs to, so I'll test against 0.13.x and 1.x. When I open a PR, I'll indicate whether or not it's ready for prime-time or just opening for discussion.
thanks for the work you've done on it so far :)
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
Thanks so much. I bet the sbt-contrib gitter would be willing to help too.
heh... haven't done much .... just sbt publish.
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
well, you're willing to do that, which is appreciated
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
of course!
I got committer perms because I was willing to port it to AutoPlugin.
Devon Stewart
@blast-hardcheese
it's definitely a niche community that needs something like this
Simeon H.K. Fitch
@metasim
for sure!

Hi, I successfully ran a project using sbt-pom-reader previously. I'd actually like to migrate a maven project to sbt. Then can this project be used to actually write sbt resources. If not is there a project which can help me convert to sbt?
Darcy Shen
@darcy-shen
Any plan for sbt 1.x
?
