Perry
@pfn
@zerosign no support for 1.x at present
Yuri Setiantoko
@zerosign
is it related to sbt support itself or also related to scala version?
Perry
@pfn
@zerosign just sbt support

does it work fine from sbt?
Adriano Locaretti
@locaretti_twitter
on sbt with "android:run" command i'm facing the "[error] no devices connected
[error] (android:hasAndroidDevice) no devices connected" as i cannot debug it without using my phone connected with usb cable
Perry
@pfn
sbt android:package
Adriano Locaretti
@locaretti_twitter
Oh yeah, nice, thanks!It does compile and packages it into an .apk.I ashume i then transfer it on phone and run it there?
*assume
Perry
@pfn
yes, you can do that
but it should work from intellij as well...
I don't know why it's complaining about <user_dir> and why it can't populate it
unless you're redacting it
Adriano Locaretti
@locaretti_twitter
The android:package solution is an acceptable solution for the time being!But i'll try to find the root cause of the above error (maybe deleting /.idea/ folder contents and restaring intallij will do the trick).Anyway i'll update with any findings!Thanks again for your valuable help!

Hey guys, I know that this question has been asked a lot and it probably annoys you by now, but i want to hear your opinions about it. How's scala on android compared to something like Kotlin in terms of performance and deployability( i don't really care about compile times).
Perry
@pfn
kotlin at the moment is much better supported

@BaghdadKh
@pfn if the ? for me , I mean how to design the layout for android in scala code or by using the layout.xml file with main scala ?
BaghdadKh
@BaghdadKh
Another question , when I install my application(from my scala code ) on my mobile , the app is blinking and doesn't run successfully , what is suggestion for the problem ?
Perry
@pfn
BaghdadKh, need to be more specific
you can add it in layout.xml and used TypedView stuff, the sample test cases should have examples

can we please get scala-android/sbt-android#332 merged, so that we have working CI? :)

hi! Starting a new android project (actually, it'll be part of a larger project written in akka on the server, scalajs on the client and I need an android portion as well) . So what's the status of scala on android? 6 years ago I was able to use scala successfully on android, but I imagine time has changed, and it doesn't seem like the community is very active on android. Where are we? What's the toolchain? which versions of sbt/scala/java should I use?
