Hi everybody, I'm the new VP of Engineering at Statflo (https://statflo.com/) in Toronto, Canada. I've been working with Scala personally since the bad ol' days (~2008!), and have always enjoyed introducing it at various companies I've worked with over the years. I feel that now is an exciting time in the Scala comumunity: Akka-typed is finally stable, we're on the cusp of a game changer with Scala 3 (once all our favourite libraries migrated, of course), and I can't wait to get my hands on ZIO 2.0!
My team currently doesn't have much Scala experience, and I'm looking to bring some talent on-board to help me take Statflo's technology group to the next level with Scala, and help me mentor them along the way! I'm happy to discuss further, just DM me.
The job postings are https://jobs.lever.co/statflo/cee59cf3-edfe-4f07-ac0a-f8dea19a998f and https://jobs.lever.co/statflo/69dab9ab-418a-400b-8ad4-ed83772224c1, both open to local or remote candidates anywhere in Canada.

[Senior Scala Developer][Perm]Dublin City Centre or Remote][€110-130k]

Heya, Cian here from nineDots :)

We are working a few Senior Scala roles with a company based in Dublin that hailed from the US. The company itself is a VC-backed data innovation start-up (around 8ish years), they transform unstructured data into insights for business and investors to allow them to make data-driven decisions.

You'll be working with incredibly smart people, they're using Haskell in there so you get the picture - fun fact, their principal engineer created one of the Scala libraries to boot! They are happy to be remote-first, ideally based in Ireland but again, they just want to see good people so no issues if you're not in Ireland

We've placed someone recently and there was no messing around, all boxed off in a week.

Scala is the name of the game in there but you will also need to be comfortable with Java and Python and you must be able to stand behind your code too. Everything's in the cloud so AWS/Azure is pretty key. They also use Haskell so yeah, a good place to work.

Any interest drop me a note at cian@ninedots.io or hit me up here

Experienced Scala Developer at Capsule - Remote UK

About Capsule

Capsule launched in 2009 following the founders' frustration with existing customer relationship management services that were either too simplistic or too complex for most businesses. We want to bring a fresh experience to business owners; a modern CRM that helps businesses stay organised, optimise sales opportunities all while providing great user experience and fantastic customer support. We are all connected by the desire to deliver the best possible experience for our customers.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Scala developer who gets excited about creating elegant, scalable, robust and maintainable solutions to complex problems.

Our large customer base is growing quickly and so this is a great opportunity to work with highly scalable systems. Capsule began life as a Java application and today we write almost all new backend code in Scala. Not having previous experience with the Scala language shouldn’t be a barrier to applying, we’re also keen to talk to Java folks who are interested in learning the language. If you’re interested in full stack development you’ll also have the option of also being involved with the development of our JavaScript frontend.
