    as mentioned in the discussion, i'll work with Eugene and Shane to draft a more formal proposal of the "thin" LSP model "very soon" (cc @jvican, @smarter)... don't know where it will go. if it doesn't look feasible, we'll be more comfortable getting behind BSP
    Jon Pretty
    @propensive
    BSP is new, so I hope a hybrid proposal would be possible.

    @stuhood
    ("very soon" ~= "hopefully next week")
    Jon Pretty
    @propensive
    new = no legacy
    Stu Hood
    @stuhood
    sure. will be sure to frame it as edits to BSP if that is possible (edit: although i suspect it will not be, since the client/server are different)
    Jon Pretty
    @propensive
    That would be great. I'll try to get a preliminary conclusion on the immediate next steps sent to everyone today.
    Guillaume Martres
    @smarter
    @propensive from what I understand of them, the proposals are completely antithetical so I don't see a middle ground :)
    Also if the stuff we're discussing is larger than the LSP itself, maybe using the existing https://gitter.im/scala/tooling-contrib channel would make more sense?
    Stu Hood
    @stuhood
    (i have no preference, as long as everyone is there)
    Jorge
    @jvican
    BSP is new but builds upon a very established idea: mostly how any IDE works.
    @stuhood Looking forward for the more formal proposal of that model ;)
    Guillaume Martres
    @smarter
    @jvican Where's the source repo for https://scalacenter.github.io/bsp/ ?
    Jorge
    @jvican
    It's private for now, we'll make it public soon
    Guillaume Martres
    @smarter
    weird to have the source private when the output is public anyway :smile:
