@Kaelten
Does the NRPE package actually install plugins for you?
Tim Smith
@tas50
it depends on what platform you’re on
on debian based systems nagios-nrpe-server includes the plugins and their dependencies
on RHEL systems you really need to specify each plugin you want
their plugins exist in their own RPMs
default['nrpe']['packages'] attribute in the attributes file shows the packages that are installed out of the box
on RHEL we include disk/load/procs/users
on Debian we include the world basically
Brian Menges
@mengesb
so does the cookbook handle debian/ubuntu nagios-nrpe-plugin - it seems by default this isn't included
I could update the [nrpe][packages] however then there's the issue on debian with following recommendations - meaning apache2/nagios3/etc get installed, which I don't want
