Ah, you’re right there's indeed a bug?
@Hirama I can push a fix but you’ll have to install sto from github master

@Hirama
Thanks! But actually I reached that block :)

Hello @SiddharthMalhotra. Thank you for your PR on our repo!
I had a look at it and I don’t think that the approach taken fixes the problem entirely. However, I don’t have a solution in mind at the moment. I will think about in the afternoon tomorrow(IST) and will give you feedback on your PR. Cheers!

:wave: hi everyone, testing STO atm for a local project in LATAM, good stuff! Hopefully no one minds if I start poking and ask questions around :relaxed:
Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
@jjperezaguinaga you are welcome

@jjperezaguinaga
@miohtama btw, I think I've reached you on LinkedIn but here might be a better forum for this questions, if one were to use sto, what would be the required steps for a company to list a sto launched project in the Token Market website?
also, you should know that the Civic audit that you are linking in https://github.com/TokenMarketNet/smart-contracts pointing to an Open Zeppelin blog post is no longer available in Civic's repository. I'm unaware whether they removed the repo, but it's not longer available - https://github.com/civicteam/ts-distribution-contract/tree/e4bcff12831d8f8e7c3dbf38f041058ca7f0a128/contracts
and one final question for the short-term, do you guys have any sort of client for sto that can be interacted with in other language that isn't python? I'll most likely wrap sto via a node.js client to be able to use within a site, but was wondering if you had any work in that direction
Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
@jjperezaguinaga Good afternoon!
@jjperezaguinaga For launching an STO, the first step would be set up a call with our business development team. It is easier if you have some sort pitch deck prepared - https://guykawasaki.com/the-only-10-slides-you-need-in-your-pitch/
We are not currently planning to create a JS client, as we do not see any direct benefits for this.
@jjperezaguinaga I am afraid I cannot help with Civic issue by more than removing the deaed link
@jjperezaguinaga For JS issue: I think we can provide more API like experience if needed - take input as JSON similar to solc

@jjperezaguinaga

@miohtama thank you for your answers!

  1. Great! Saw the post, will follow-up in that direction.

  2. No worries, was more of a pointer than a request.

  3. Anything JSON like would be great. I understand not wanting to put effort on a client as such.

My next steps will be to follow-up with my client to see if it makes more sense for them to use your platform directly over having to build one myself on top of sto. In the meantime, do you have a demo account I could share so they can see the platform themselves and see whether it’s feasible for their use case? Thanks!

Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
@jjperezaguinaga We can demostrate raising capital and the exchange
We do not have a public demo for corporate governance yet
@jjperezaguinaga If you can send me an email mikko@tokenmarket.net I will loop the correct people from our team to the conversation
Jose Aguinaga
@jjperezaguinaga

@miohtama the first two are more than enough, governance isn’t a priority in my client’s scope.

Thanks again! I’ll reach you over email with more details ☺️

@skaftanis
Hello,
I really enjoy the library but I have a strange problem on token-scan. I run the command with the token address as normal, but in the results I get "Scanning token: None...."
I also get the normal message: "Updated x token holder balances" but nothings seems to happening in the database and the cap-table command is failing of course because of that. The scanning also loads as expected. Is there something that I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!
Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
@skaftanis Can you get a full log somewhere?
Spiros Kaftanis
@skaftanis

Hi, thanks for the response.

Here is an execution example:
$ sto --config=myconfig.ini token-scan --token-address=0x94b930A17e6D6aF876391Db267401Fb302744414
STO tool, version 0.4.1 - Copyright TokenMarket Ltd. 2018 - 2019
Using database /home..../transactions.sqlite
Scanning token: None
Current last block for chain kovan: 18963476
Scanning blocks: 1 - 18963476

After the completion nothing happens in the database. I guess that the problem is that for some reason it fails to scan the token correctly at the beginning and that's the reason for the "Scanning token: None" line.

Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
@skaftanis Is 0x94b930A17e6D6aF876391Db267401Fb302744414 a valid ERC-20 on Kovan?
Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
I think None would be the token name and if it does not get it then the token address is not valid and there are no events either
Spiros Kaftanis
@skaftanis

yes, it's a valid one.
The strange thing here is that "token-status" works fine with the same address as you can see.

$ sto --config=myconfig.ini token-status --address=0x94b930A17e6D6aF876391Db267401Fb302744414
STO tool, version 0.4.1 - Copyright TokenMarket Ltd. 2018 - 2019
Using database /home/..../transactions.sqlite
Name: sktoken
Symbol: STO
Total supply: 5000
Decimals: 18

Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
hmmmm
Spiros Kaftanis
@skaftanis
is --address of "token-status" meant to be a different one from the --token-address of "token-scan" ?
Logically it's the same (and it's the address of the token contract) , but it's a little bit strange that the flags have different names.
I tried other related addresses thought, so I don't really know. It's possibly a setup thing or something.

@hack_invest_twitter
Hello. Are you also providing security token generation service?
Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
@hack_invest_twitter not really
Mikko Ohtamaa
@miohtama
@skaftanis we can check from the source, maybe the command line parameter was differently named
