@Apostolique
Not sure
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
Sadly it wouldn't be the first time. Can you send me your mlt file? I can check it it's corrupted. Sometimes it's possible to fix it
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
Ok
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
I shared it with you on your email
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
thanks :) I'll see what I can do!
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
I quite liked that file
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
it's fixed! i'll send the fixed mlt by email
it was caused by my work on adding a feature to make lines.
it's never going to be super-safe to run milton from master, but in the future I will try and keep savefile-breaking changes outside of master :)
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
Pretty sick
Also I had a problem compiling master without changing anything
I'll give you the error (warning?)
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
nah. I had the same one probably. was it related to brushenum?
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
ya
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
yeah, that's fixed.
can't guarantee that I won't break the windows build in the future just because these days I tend to use macos
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
Built perfectly now
There's a new bug it seems
I try to draw, but nothing is shown
or wait
yeah, so I can draw lines
The the Brush doesn't draw
nvm
I'm dumb
Brush size was too small
I got too used to old versions :)
Those lines are awesome
In the future I'll just backup my file before compiling a new Milton version
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
:thumbsup:
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
btw, was that a big file?
I put all my notes in there
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
about 18000 brush strokes if I remember correctly!
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
No wonder it takes a couple milliseconds to zoom out
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
thanks a lot man :) that kind of stuff really helps

@serge-rgb I just discovered a feature with lines on Milton. Not sure if it was intended but it's insanely cool!
You can start a line, then press any button and it ends the line and starts a new one
This makes drawing squares really fast for example
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
My milton.log file is almost 1 GB
Should I just delete it?
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
!!!
yes. you can delete it. I should really write some logic to keep that file from becoming gigantic
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
lol
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
@Apostolique did you leave Milton open for ages? it should clear the log file every time it starts up
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
I might have
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
The last released version was a long time ago
1+ year
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
@serge-rgb Do you use Discord?
If you do, I vote we move the chat for Milton to Discord

@a7i7
Hi everyone,
Is there a doc somewhere that explains the algorithm behind the infinite canvas of Milton paint and how file sizes are kept small?
Sergio Gonzalez
@serge-rgb
@a7i7 I've got an old blog post about it. It's a bit outdated but it should give you a gist of how it works http://s3rg.io/post/2016/10/20/how-the-milton-renderer-works/
Jean-David Moisan
@Apostolique
@serge-rgb What's your trick to handle infinite undo redo? Do you get that easily because every change is an addition so it's just a matter of indexing every addition?
