Cyril Scetbon
another question is how can I decide that the SQS event gets disabled for dev but enabled for prod ?
or maybe sqs doesn't have the enable option so when it gets disabled it stays as it is ?
Cyril Scetbon
I just checked and it is in the template so it should be set
Cyril Scetbon
when using variable templates if there a way to say if prod then x else y ?

Can someone help me what to pass secretName and secretKey in below serverless file.

handler: gcr.io/knative-releases/github.com/knative/eventing-contrib/cmd/event_display:latest

  - awsSqs:
      secretName: aws-credentials
      secretKey: credentials
      queue: QUEUE_URL

I am new to Serverless.
I just want to know if there is any way around that we can create s3 buckets using serverless if else plugin.

What I am trying to achieve is that I want to create new s3 buckets as per Stage I gave in if else statement.

Fr example if script(serverless.yml) runs in production stage it should create different s3 bucket and if script runs in development stage then it should create different bucket according to if else statement.

Please let me know if there is any way around to achieve this.

there are tons of ways for that you can use variables all over the place yml supports even environment variables out of the box

you should start learning yml all the basics about it how it gets interpreted and that
this will give you the best learning boost as you will work with yml more often and that applys to every software that uses it

Can azure functions defined via the serverless framework be easily triggered by events from event grid? If so, is there an abstraction for this?
gsb19 Hi all, I'm new to serverless. Looking for python compatible frameworks that don't require AWS.
Both long running and short-lived processes are interesting.
Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just installed serverless on my mac and getting this error when i run serverless --version
any idea how to solve it?
any help will appreciate.
@HarshitChhipa what nodejs version is installed on your machine?
Has anyone faced a problem with the framework excluding dependencies that are used actually? I get error when I deploy to Azure because lots of packages are missing

@reflash I have node version 13.5.0.

If I don't use the serverless dashboard and simply use AWS for all my lambda function deployments via the serverless framework, is there a limit on the amount of functions I can deploy? Are there any limitations of any kind that occur solely as a result of me using the serverless framework?

I'm sorry if thats a bad question. I'm really new to serverless rn and I'm just trying to figure things out

Hi, is there any way to run custom commands in docker before deploying lambda function to AWS? I need to build python dependencies in docker image and do some tweaks before deployed. Is there anyway to do this the right way?

gsb19 Anyone here with https://fnproject.io/ experience? I would like to know if it's worth my time and effort. Thanks

What happens if two developers run serverless deploy on a project in parallel, each with different change sets?

I am getting "The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. Check your AWS Secret Access Key and signing method. Consult the service documentation for details." when I am doing sls deploy now the thing is when I am creating a new project from serverless's dashboard and deploy it is happening in a snap now I am not getting what's wrong.
Any suggestion of if anyone else faced this.
This mostly happens when your system clock is out of sync with aws's clock. I have fixed this with updating my computers clock.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a Lambda function alias (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/configuration-aliases.html) with the Serverless Framework?

Hey! I know I can set a custom CFR role in my yml template, but could I also set a separate profile to be used for the CFR? similar to what happens when I use profile key in the provider description ?
Noob quetion but I'd like to use a lambda to provision a custom serverless template into my AWS account and I can't find any advice on if this is possible and, if so, how to do it? The idea is to provision tenant infrastructure automatically (e.g. s3 bucket, api endpoint etc).
@econtentmaps possible, but you will have elevated permissions on the lambda, not sure if you can provision everything though. If you plan to have such a function keep it in internal VPC, with no servers other than your own accessing it.
Hi All,
I am facing issue as under:
Access to XMLHttpRequest at '{API Gateway-Lambda-NodejsExpress API url}' from origin '{S3 hosted site url}' has been blocked by CORS policy: Request header field token is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Headers in preflight response.

hi~ I got this error on any sls command, like sls config
"Your AWS credential for deployment profile default is configured to use the IAM role arn:aws:iam::1234567:role/amplify-asd-dev-130043-authRole, but access to that role was denied by IAM. - Please contact support and provide this identifier to reference this issue"

but this role is used by aws-cognito, does someone has any idea??

Just announced - Docker containers in Lambda. I hope Serverless adds support for this very quickly: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-for-aws-lambda-container-image-support/

when SLS pushes a new cloudformation stack it'll wipe out any changes to Environment Variables / VPC settings that had been added in the console right?

Getting following issue. Please help!!
An error occurred: ServerLambdaFunction - AccessDeniedExceptionnull (Service: AWSLambdaInternal; Status Code: 403; Error Code: AccessDeniedException; Request ID: c1cc9b63-6314-40a8-8103-5151810f38ba; Proxy: null).

@iamsush this is your aws iam permission issue/u didnt create the lambda function

Sushant Gautam
Thanks, it has been fixed now :)
What's the best way to migrate/transform the structure of DynamoDB data? Say, for example, that I need to rename a field of a document?
and getting this error:
Configuration warning at 'functions.seo.events[0]': unsupported function event
    handler: handler.main
      - preExistingCloudFront:
        distributionId: [scrubbed]
        eventType: origin-response
        pathPattern: "*"
        includeBody: false
ideally, what im trying to achieve is the ability to deploy my lambda function from command line, and not have to go into AWS at all to deploy/publish/connect my cloudfront distribution to a new lambda function version
Adam Hauer
i figured this out. forgot to add a line to plugins 🙄
