    Healthchecks (performance metrics: CPU, RAM, disk utilization...) coming to the Sensor tonight...

    Hey @ashmastaflash, for the noisebridge workshop this sunday, we also need things that aren't on the Amazon list, right? Like the SainSmart GSM antenna and the GPS dongle?
    Ash Wilson
    @ashmastaflash
    Hey @loganwilliams !
    The GlobalSat GPS dongle is on the Amazon shopping list, and the SIM900 has an antenna included

    I actually don't see either of those things on the Amazon list -- I just see the SIM card, RPi, microSD card, and an ethernet cable.
    I think when someone buys something from an Amazon wishlist, it might remove it from the list (because it's supposed to be a list of things that that person wants)

    Oh crap! I'm sorry, I didn't realize that. I'll correct the list this afternoon.
    That SDR will do GSM850 very well. If you want to hit 1900MHz (PCS, the other common US GSM frequency) you'll need to get one with the Clinics E4000 tuner.
    Not clinics, Elonics

    @ashmastaflash
    Yep! That's it.

    Awesome, thanks. I'm looking forward to the workshop

    Me too! Thanks for the heads-up on the shopping list issue!

    @ashmastaflash
    Hey @loganwilliams , would you mind having another look at the shopping list?
    I think everything is there now
    Logan Williams
    @loganwilliams
    yeah, it looks good now!

    @ashmastaflash Do you know if other SIM900 breakout boards will work?
    Ash Wilson
    @ashmastaflash
    @loganwilliams it will probably work fine... The big requirements are: 1) need to be able to use the USB-TTY to communicate with it (using the 5v to power the shield, unless you have a separate power supply)
    And 2) it needs to have output consistent with the other modems in the pile I've accumulated so far :-)
    Chances are, it'll be fine.
    I'll have a few known-good with me.
    In case yours doesn't work quite right, you've got dibs on one.

    @loganwilliams
    Cool, thanks Ash! See you Sunday.
