Hey guys, I tried to split my code like this with lit-html

  import { props, withComponent } from 'skatejs';
  import withLitHtml from '@skatejs/renderer-lit-html';
  import { html } from 'lit-html';

  import css from './sd-app.css';
  import template from './sd-app.html';

  class SDApp extends withComponent(withLitHtml()) {

    static get props() {
      return {
        name: props.string
      };
    }

    render() {
      return html`<style>${css}</style> ${template}`;
    }
  }

  customElements.define('sd-app', SDApp);

Do you have any idea, why this is not working? I am using parceljs as a bundler

@tw1t611 last time I tried Parcel + Skate I could not get it to work because of some babel class stuff. Which error are you seeing?
btw I was watching the skate repo on github to follow along but this renovate thing is making it impossible. Is there a way to disable notifications from it by any chance? Guess not :)

@treshugart
@oskarrough I just disabled renovate. It's been kiiiiiiling me as a maintainer. If they could batch update stuff it'd be easier, but your comment pushed me over the edge. Done; disabled.
Sorry about the noise.

@tw1t611 @oskarrough is right, I've had some trouble, too, but I'm not sure it's because of Parcel. Most issues I've had are because the whole es5 vs es2015 custom elements thing is pretty obtuse.
Usually, you either need to include the es2015 source (if it has one) or include the shim: https://unpkg.com/@webcomponents/webcomponentsjs@1.1.0/custom-elements-es5-adapter.js

Hey folks, trying to test out skatejs but going a bit mad trying to get a bundler to work with it. Started with parcel, now trying webpack 4. I keep running into the error, Failed to construct 'HTMLElement': Please use the 'new' operator, this DOM object constructor cannot be called as a function. on lit-html. My first step to resolving that was to make sure I wasn't transpiling ES6 classes away. But eventually did away with babel altogther and it's still happening. Here's my simple reproduction: https://gist.github.com/timwis/e540d89aee77421f502b51bbd1ca1421 Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Tim Wisniewski
@timwis
@treshugart maybe you ran into this issue with parcel?

Figured it out ^ skatejs/skatejs#1442

Hi, I posted a question about canvas support. Just wanted to say that I'm here in case that's easier to respond to. Thanks!

Hey @timwis sorry I missed your message here! Glad we figured it out eventually, though!
Thanks @michaschwab_twitter :)

hey there. i'm pretty new to Skate & web components. i was wondering if there's any sort of docs or guides on managing/handling events that people would recommend?
i have some basic click handling working in the code i'm working on now. i also sort of have it figured out how to manage propagating events, but it seems like i'm missing something. wouldn't mind some more general information if it exists
Trey Shugart
@treshugart
Possibly not but I’m happy to expand on the docs. Do you have any specific code samples you need help with?
@pseudoramble ^
happy for you to raise an issue, too, to discuss there

is there any example with react?

Hey people! Curious if there's going to be a new release soon of element and element-preact. There are some changes that were made to the package.jsons on 2018-12-11 that I need for skatejs to be usable. For now I have it cloned and linked in.

Also, I've discovered a problem with element-preact and preact@10. Preact's render no longer returns an Element, messing up the WeakMap cache.
