    Hello, I have setup SNAS All-in_one docker container and planning to use Openbmp UI to get the stats.
    My goal is to see route analytics as mentioned in this youtube link
    Please let me know if anyone have mock data to try out..

    Hi - I'm having trouble using rpki. In the psql container, the jave process is running fine, but I can't connect to localhost port 8080. The rpki-validator.sh start skript gives no errors and in the log there are only some warnings
    the container is created with the right rpki-option in place
    Mondhund
    @Mondhund
    works now - the arin.tal file was in the wrong format and java just stopped further processing without error message. sigh

    Hi all , I'm new one here . i have 50 Cisco switch and OSPF routing enabled between them .. all these routers connected to main router .. My goal to monitor the IP traffic flow from the main to each router using Netflow .. So how i can do this using SNAS .. Is there any way .. Thanks in advance
    Phil D
    @philodavies
    SNAS is a tool for BGP Monitoring Protocol, BMP, data. It will not work for OSPF
    tariqemad
    @tariqemad
    @philodavies ... Thanks .. can you advice me about another tool working with OSPF ? Is PNDA help me in this ? .. Thanks in advance ...
    Phil D
    @philodavies
    Having worked with PNDA in the past, I would honestly recommend something else unless you want to manage a massive project.
    I have also never done any work with OSPF and netflow (together), so I have no recommendations for that. I would have thought it was as simple as saving the data to a database like postgresql and then doing queries against it with something like grafana (since it's a great visualization tool)
    tariqemad
    @tariqemad
    @philodavies Many thanks for your replay .. Actually during my googling i found that i can work with ELK which i can using kibana or grafana for visualization ..Did you recommend this .. Thanks in advance ...
    Phil D
    @philodavies
    ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) vs another set of toolings and grafana depends on the organization really. As I don't know what you will be doing nor do I have experience with IP traffic analysis with netflow, I don't think I could really help you much more than saying SNAS is not the product you want.
    tariqemad
    @tariqemad
    Well .. Thanks for your advice ...

    Should the demo still be available on the SNAS site? https://www.snas.io/demo/demo-grafana/ has a link to http://rv-obmp.cisco.com:3000/ but connection is failing.

    That's a question for Tim, but it's been down since November so I would wager it is on purpose.

    Hi all. does anyone use api demo....?
    Noah Y
    @netyook
    how do you deal with DataType 'varbinary' such as Column'prefix_bin' when you call api ('/db_rest/v1/rib')..?
    when i read that data as a json with python. i got syntax error.
    Noah Y
    @netyook
    forget about it. it is going well with python library. it is just problem with a browser.
    Noah Y
    @netyook
    i have a trouble with snas api.
    when i call snas api, that give me a response of json. but the point is there is something wrong with it.
    i think that value of 'prefix_bin' Column is a problem.
    Does anyone have a same problem with me..?

    with BMP is there any way to guarantee route consistency (BMP not missing any BGP updates, such as withdrawn message not sent to BMP collector)?

    Is Postgres added to the AIO container?

    Exploring OpenBMP.
    I tried installing the Kafka docker container.
    When checking logs via: "docker exec openbmp_kafka tail -f /var/log/*.log"
    Got this result:
    tail: can't open '/var/log/boot.log': No such file or directory
    tail: can't open '/var/log/cloud-init.log': No such file or directory
    tail: can't open '/var/log/cloud-init-output.log': No such file or directory
    tail: can't open '/var/log/dracut.log': No such file or directory
    tail: can't open '/var/log/yum.log': No such file or directory
    tail: no files"

    And this command: "docker logs openbmp_kafka" gives the following result,
    "rsyslogd: imklog: cannot open kernel log (/proc/kmsg): Operation not permitted.
    rsyslogd: activation of module imklog.so failed [v8.31.0 try http://www.rsyslog.com/e/2145 ]"

    Why am I not able to check the logs? Please help! :)

    Hi guys. I want to ask about openbmp_psql.
    When I try to run the container, it's work. But at the log file it's shown like this " Waiting for PostgreSQL to start...
    psql: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "openbmp"
    FATAL: password authentication failed for user "openbmp" "
    Could you guys help me about this problem? Thanks

    am also getting the same error "psql: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "openbmp""
    even if I use your docer-compose file. any idea how to resolve it ?

    hi guys ,
    some one solved it ?
    psql: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "openbmp"
    FATAL: password authentication failed for user "openbmp"
    Waiting for PostgreSQL to start...

    @edgarLip_gitlab
    looks like i solved it , move the docker to centos 7 ver 2003 , gave it 40 GIG RAM/500 GIG HD / 8 CPU
    later encountered a lot of crap ...

    @netyook
    Hi @edgarLip_gitlab . could you share command of docker "openbmp_psql container "? i am facing "ERROR: Failed to connect to Kafka at kafka.domain, check the docker run -e KAFKA_FQDN= value".
    Tushar Rao
    @TusharRao1_twitter
    Hi @netyook If all your containers are on the same machine, just assign KAFKA_FQDN=localhost or KAFKA_FQDN=172.17.0.1(docker0 IP address from ifconfig)
    Noah Y
    @netyook
    Yes. i got it. I should have set "/var/openbmp/config/obmp-psql.yml" as well. Thanks.
    I finally got graph on grafana. but.... data is based on GMT. I changed container's timezone to KST(GMT+9). but data is still GMT. Does anyone solve this problem..?
    I did change "collector, kafka, postgres" container's timezone with TZ in enviroment.
    edgar
    @edgarLip_gitlab
    @netyook - i used it like so ...
    -e KAFKA_FQDN=openbmp_kafka \
    if u like i can also share a document that will include all the commands that i changed in order to activate the lab.
    (need to create it = )
