@megoth_twitter been impressed with how quickly you have learnt, and your ability to listen, I hope we have you in solid for the next 30, I think you can be a big part of it! :)
@solid-pay nice of you to say, I hope to be a part of this movement as well for a long time, and contribute to the betterment of the web in general ^_^
the one that always gets me is : "if you do your little bit, everyone else will too" :)
which roughly translated, imho, means, use solid ( which is the web pro version :) ), write apps, connect to people, be creative with permissionless innovation, let the intended decentralized nature of the web live side by side, with the specialized part, giving people choice
There's certainly a lot of people helping out, and one thing I love with this community; a lot of people interested and eager to participate, to figure out together where to take all of this
But we also need good mechanisms in place to incentivize people to choose technologies that are for the betterment of all (which I believe Solid is)
So let's see what we can manage to create that ^_^
I agree! And exactly what I am motivated to work on :)
It would be great for @solid-pay, @megoth_twitter, @theWebalyst, @csarven, @dmitrizagidulin, @jeff-zucker, to join the next Solid Opening Hours next week. We really could use your direction, comments, suggestions and the like.
@Mitzi-Laszlo Do you have a date and time for the next Solid Opening Hours?
It was a great time this morning and Mitzi was able to answer allot of questions. Solid Opening Hours Live From CERN! Way to go @Mitzi-Laszlo!!!
And as many others that I failed to mention, please attend the next Solid Opening Hours.
Are the sessions recorded?
@mikeadams1 sure thing! i’ll be there for the next ones (if they’re at the same time)
Is this the only place to talk with the Solid community? Is there a forum anywhere?
Will do, thanks. What an exciting project! The apps section I clicked on in the website seemed blank, just a link encouraging development (which is also awesome.) Does anyone know of any functioning Solid apps?
Never mind, didn't take long to find threads leading me to github.
If you would like to introduce yourself or have a question this is a great place to drop by
hi everyone, I was looking for append content to a .ttl file on my pods and I'm having problems... I'm using solid-file-client, but updateFile() method just destroy old file and creates a new one. Any idea of how to resolve this?
Mark Hughes (happybeing/theWebalyst)
I think at the LDP protocol level, PATCH is how you would do this (but might be wrong!). As for a 'method' that would depend on the library you are using - which is it? Append might just not be supported, in which case writing the file again (with the extra bits) might be the only way.
I'll try that solution, thank you very much!
@enriquefdez5 currently solid-file-client does not have an append method, but it's a good idea and I'll add one. In the meantime, you can use readFIle() to get the current content, use string concat to add your content, then updateFile() to replace the original.
Or you can use solid-file-client's raw fetch() along with PATCH.
BTW, hi everyone, I've been lurking and going through the docs for a couple of weeks. Excited to be part of this community!
Hi Raul, welcome!

Hello guys, I am looking for a way to contribute to the project. I am from Brazil and I am doing my final paper and I'd like to write and build something about Solid
The requirements are that I need to write a paper about the problem and I can build something(program). The second requirement is not mandatory
