BTW, hi everyone, I've been lurking and going through the docs for a couple of weeks. Excited to be part of this community!
Hi Raul, welcome!
Raúl R Pearson
Welcome to Solid @raulrpearson. If the link is updated for Solid Opening Hours it will be updated in the community repo too
You can find the draft agenda for the next W3C Solid Community Group call on https://www.w3.org/community/solid/wiki/Meetings Let me know if there is anything you would like to add or modify. The Solid Spec is discussed at the W3C Solid Community Group call which happens biweekly and is open for anyone to join. You can find out more on the community repo.
Hello guys, I am looking for a way to contribute to the project. I am from Brazil and I am doing my final paper and I'd like to write and build something about Solid
The requirements are that I need to write a paper about the problem and I can build something(program). The second requirement is not mandatory
Must refresh page to get pod data after login when using new version solid-auth-client, but it's ok with old version solid-auth-client
Is someone know this issue?
Any UK academics here? I need to add my article on ”Digital Sovereignty” published here http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-2165/ to https://www.researchfish.net/ . One has to search databases of articles that various repositories already have indexed as I see it. But searching those repositories is like using an SQL interface with no reasoning on fragmented data...
quite innovative thing I noticed on facebook, they let you now log in by clicking your profile picture
@solid-pay Thats an interesting feature
That's method has been around for a long time. IIRC, Yahoo had it (first?)
Hi Everyone, Was anybody here working toward Legal Entities (e.g. companies) representation in WebID Profile Documents? We are considering using WebID for companies on our http://lei.info platform (short term goal) and Solid platform (long term goal). We could apply what FOAF allows for, but before we do so, I'm looking for any previous work in that space.
Someone interested using solid to link research data?
@SebSigloch_twitter Yes…but that description covers a multitude of sins!
I am working at SWITCH, the national research and education network (NREN) of Switzerland and we are planning to build a prototype for linked research data. SOLID might be one approach for that. @gklyne any experience so far?
@jeff-zucker Thanks :) The really interesting bits are other people’s - I’m mainly doing RDF data modelling and prototyping. But I was involved with an interesing LDP-based architecture for a music guided-composition demonstrator based on the MELD ideas. (https://ora.ox.ac.uk/objects/pubs:951336) Using REST ideas (where the "uniform interface" is LDP), we’ve been able to move a lot of the application logic to cooperating clients, with the “cloud” service element reduced to LDP.
Love the acronym :-). LDP seems like a clear win for a project like that which already has the linked data in place - immediately opens the data and reasoning to client apps.
@jeff-zucker Ack. It also connects with the growing body of work using Web Annotations. All of which should allow for lots of re-usable software elements - we hope! I guess the “reasoning” aspect could be compared with the old blackboard systems? (With LDP collections as the blackboard(s).)
