@Mitzi-Laszlo
This week the time changed in the US and not the EU so a bit messy, plus my bad on emailing the wrong link. Minutes are up on the wiki and the next meeting will be next week
Let me know if there is anything you would like to include in the agenda
Mitzi László
@Mitzi-Laszlo
Thank you @michielbdejong for taking minutes, perhaps you or @ericprud have the link

Does anyone have the name of the Turkish writer on privacy mentioned in the call?
Arne Hassel
@megoth_twitter
She also has some excellent TED talks
Zeynep Tufekci: We're building a dystopia just to make people click on ads
https://go.ted.com/CX4k
There's two more, but I highly recommend that one
David H. Mason
@vid
Thank you! Maybe the minutes could be updated with her name.

Can anyone say if http://events.linkeddata.org/ldow-lddl/ is going to touch on Solid? I'm about to start a prototype in verified credentials and would like to use Solid, but somehow I missed the session in Boston running now. Any focused sessions will really help.

@jucole
@megoth_twitter interesting video

test .. 2
timbl @timbl testing the gitter-solid importer
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
Solid Boston ends — lots of great conversations
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
and cool projects like https://lifescope.io/
The Arkadia
@thearkadia
@timbl that looks sweet but how much of it is running?
and is the gitter-solid importer like a bridge from irc to gitter but using solid?
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
@thearkadia Lifescope.io is seriously running lots of data imports, but not (yet?) based on solid. Masses of api conversion code and websit escraping code.
The Arkadia
@thearkadia
thats great. I hope open source personal assistants like https://snips.ai use this approach for informing you on your online habits
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
The gitter-solid importer reads gitter chat from the API and stores it as a solid chat.
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
I have a com mand line program https://github.com/solid/solid-gitter which will suck old messages opr new messages over, but can’t yuet stream new messages in real time.
but should in a bit

Jeff Zucker
@jeff-zucker
sweet! it uses the new rdflib wedge to solid-auth-cli?
ah no, I see you are grabbing it from the ENV
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
How would that coinnection work?
I a using the ENV as I don’t knoww better.
@jeff-zucker ^
How does rdflib pick up the login state from solid-auth-cli ?
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
That would be much better
timbl @timbl should maybe read the docs
Jeff Zucker
@jeff-zucker
If you don't need auth, you can just define and use fetcher as usual, if you need auth, do this and then fetcher.load() will do an auth fetch
const solid   = { auth:require('solid-auth-cli') }
const $rdf    = require('rdflib')
const kb      = $rdf.graph()
const fetcher = $rdf.fetcher(kb,{fetch:solid.auth.fetch})
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
Ah, you pass the fetch function to fetcher
Jeff Zucker
@jeff-zucker
yep
Tim Berners-Lee
@timbl
And how will it get the username and password
Jeff Zucker
@jeff-zucker
to quote the readme :-) The login method needs an Identity Provider, username, and password. Those may be passed in as an object or read from a specified JSON file. If called with no arguments, login() will look for a configuration file in ~/.solid-auth-cli-config.json. If there is no configuration file or it is missing an IDP, username, or password, you will be prompted to enter them when you login.
I should maybe also add a ENV option
