I'm preparing for my Solid talk in Seattle and I kind of like this slide I made to illustrate the pre-Solid world.
I have someone writing a LifeScope to Data Transfer Project import/export and we were thinking of using it to interface with Solid. Anyone else working with Solid/DTP or would be interested in the LifeScope <> Solid integration?
Also, if you are near LA May 18th, I’ll be throwing a big event for LifeScope announcing our Solid and Data Transfer Project integration amongst other initiatives. Come join! lifescope.io/party

@Mitzi-Laszlo, my main hurdle for developing on Solid is I'm hit with a bit of a learning curve. I'm working on climbing that curve but I definitely think we could improve the situation with more and improved tutorials and docs. I'm happy to help with that.
As a community we could come together to build something like howtographql.com
I have an idea around this, but it has some thoughts needed to be put together before sharing

Inrupt could also consider sponsoring some coding instructor "stars"/"influencers" to create a professionally produced Solid/linked data course. For example, Firefox sponsored Wes Bos to create a course on CSS Grid https://cssgrid.io/
Apart from the fact that the result would be a well produced course, some of these instructors have a very big following and reach a lot of people
@konobi, an idea around a course?
More encompassing, but really needs the conversation to be lined up

@jeff-zucker nice illustration :) I'm sure they will pick up more, curious to hear how Solid Seattle goes, maybe send a pic?
@mrhegemon thanks for the info on the life scope event, have you got any links to the Solid integration work?
@raulrpearson thank you for sharing your thoughts on hurdles and @konobi looking forward to hearing your ideas too

@raulrpearson are you looking for help with GraphQL?
@theWebalyst I believe it's more that it's an example of documentation projects that are helpful introductions to communities
What would be nice is if you defined your applications GraphQL API by mapping a schema that can be mapped to RDF
@angelo-v has been leading the way with putting together a roadmap, I'd like to invite and encourage you to make sure it's up to date and if you have any ideas to add them there too
@Mitzi-Laszlo There is a source of confusion for recently arrived devs that is hard to navigate, especially since there is a reluctance to talk about it, and that is that the Solid client world is split (though amicably) into two camps, one being the Timbl/solid-panes camp built on rdflib.js and the other being the RubenV/ldflex/react camp built on comunica and triple pattern fragments. Some help in navigating this divide would be helpful for new devs.
Thank you Tom, I'm wondering where best to position this information, any ideas? When does this crop up? This would be helpful in understanding where to place the guidance
It's pretty fundamental so it should be placed up front. Some pointers as to where each camp is coming from and where they are going would be good. It's kind of like picking a country to emigrate to, having money for only one ticket, and trying to decide which country will do better in the long run.
Was a bit confused by the meeting time this week. I now see it was in the mornining European time? I was just about to leave to catch a train at that point.
@Mitzi-Laszlo Missed the community call as somehow the time link had said was at 7 AM 5/2 local time. I see the minutes. I will try to make the next call 5/9 to follow up.
@bblfish@shingyeung details are always up to date on https://www.w3.org/community/solid/wiki/Meetings which you will always receive an email reminder for beforehand. Understand the time changes are tricky, bit of a side effect of coordinating a global conversation. Great to see we are getting participants from Asia and New Zealand too!
@shingyeung let me know if you'd still like to present the self hosting instructions you put together and if so when would be a good moment
no, problem, I think I was even scribing last week, so I suppose I should have picked that up.
Thanks. No hurry I can wait for 5/9 call if there is room left on the agenda.
Hello everyone, I'm part of the team which is developing one of the decentralized chats. We have finished the last sprint and we would be so grateful if anyone can give us some feedback about it. You can see the github project on https://github.com/Arquisoft/dechat_es2b and the chat being run on https://arquisoft.github.io/dechat_es2b/ . We have the graphic interface version (the link above) and another CLI version which you can run following the steps indicated on github.
Maybe you should add what Access modes your app needs on your website
