we are working on a local test net package right now so hopefully will have something out soon that will let you play around with the tech.
if you want to join the distributed public test net, please click "join us" on spacemesh.io

Hey @pkrasam I thought the requirements desktop only. (Unless you're on an iMac) Could you pass the links to the binaries for MacOS?

Hey @pkrasam , for our local testnet, we have a script that created a docker and compiles the node on it, the script also configures all that is needed for the local testnet to run locally on your computer.
What configurations are you trying to set up?

Hello. I'm trying to run a testnet locally, as described in the docs. This section https://github.com/ransonhobbes/go-spacemesh/blob/patch-1/README.md#running-a-local-testnet directs me to https://testnet.spacemesh.io/#/README which has me download an app. Can I run a local testnet from the commandline without installing an app?
    oh... I found https://github.com/spacemeshos/local-testnet maybe that's it

Trying to follow the instructions there, I ran setup.sh and set up the virtualenv, but when I run testnet.py I get this error from the poet server:

I'll keep working on it but I'd appreciate any tips

Hey, @ransonhobbes , thanks for trying out our local testnet.
The poet server must connect to a running nose in order for it to boot, but perhaps there where breaking changes to poet server that we didn't address
I can find the latest version that worked for you, unless you want to use the latest releases, in that case we need to fix the issue and release a new tag
