What should I use to mock Elastic?

Only sinon.js stubs should be used as more flexible solution

hi all i’ve moved on from that issue now
I’m looking through elasticsearch.js and cant see methods other than ‘search’ - can i POST/PUT/DELETE from elasticsearch.js ? ?

is this correct usage of bool ? I’m trying to check for almost-matching phrases, followed by almost-matching words - is that a correct way of using bool ? thanks. http://hastebin.com/ufasuxudel.vhdl

Hi to all. Any info where I could find info for connecting elasticsearch to angularfullstack framework?
Christopher Shelley
@basiclaser
What is that? Just angular so far? Or is there a backend or a db already
Nejc Vukovic
@nvwebd
It’s a stack : PostgreSQL (usign sequelize for the comm to DB), Express, Angular & Node

Hello to all. I have a question. I’m making a search query to ES and tok takes 40. But If I open for example 10 tabs and reload them at the same time with the same query and host some of them then take 200 or more. Why does this happen?

hey there! my question is more related to elasticsearch and not elasticsearch-js, although I am using this lib. But I hope you can still help me. Imagine I index documents with each an array of different geopoints. I've done that, and I am able to do a distance search returning only those documents within a certain radius of another geo location. Now, how can I know which of the geopoints in the geopoints array matched my query? I'd like to know which matched, so I can render them in a google maps layer as markers

HI, I question lead me in this channel. Can someone provide me with an example of search by regexp of a certain property of a document with given type?

Hi
I have been working on an application using serverless framework
At backend using dynamodb database
But I am finding it difficult to write complex search queries with dynamodb
So, I am thinking to go with elasticsearch for better query options like search, filter, pagination, geo query, fulltext search
Is there any documentation to deal with this requirement?
A working example will be great, if possible.

Hey! :)
  const s = await client.putScript({
      id: 'appendToDirectChat',
      lang: 'painless',
      body: {
        script: 'ctx._source.directChats = (ctx._source.directChats) ? ctx._source.directChats + user : [user]'
      }
    })
Anyone got any hints as to why this errors?

the idea of the script is to append to the array if it exists, or create it with one element

Hey y'all - I'm pretty new to ES, and trying to write a complicated query and really have no idea where to start. I have one index with documents containing a name field full names like John Smith, and another index with documents containing a transcription field that are blobs of text from the google vision text detection API. What I'm trying to do is run a query that will give me the top 5 or so name matches from the users index based on full name field vs transcription text. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do this?

How do I store two types of data, one with a schema and the other without a schema in the same index? One without the schema is small (around 100 records) and the other one has more data. type is deprecated so what is the best way to do it?
Deleting, creating index, mapping in sequence is throwing an error. If I split that into two calls; 1) delete, create index 2) put mapping that works fine
with ES7.8 do I have to anything special if I am creating mappings in the same call?
