I am using Speedata/publisher to produce high quality PDFs of 42 different version of the Bible in 22 languages. Speedata does wonderfully for all the latin based language alphabets. However support needs to be added for Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew and other RTL languages and expectional unicode scripts. Patrick Gunlach needs sponsorship to add these features. I can help with part, but need others to help provide the full sponsorship that Patrick needs to do the job. Anyone else interested?

Is there a Speedata test to confirm that all unicode values are covered in the supplied font? Will sp --filter produce a warning or error if a unicode value is not covered in the font?

@webservant316_twitter You mean for example that you get an error /message if you try to typeset "House" and there is no "H" in the font? I will have to try it out.

Yes I want to know if I will get an error. I am using Speedata to compile PDFs for documents in 22 languages and for some languages the characters may be 99% covered in a standard Arial font. However, if a few of the unicode values are not covered in the font I need to know what will happen. There is no way humanly possible to inspect all the documents for a missing character. I am hoping that an error will be produced instead.

At the moment there is no way to get an error message. I am currently looking into the code how it would be possible to do so
