    do you need the rest of it too?
    Per-Åke Minborg
    @minborg
    That looks correct.
    No
    Would it be possible for you to run the actual tool under Java11? You app can be run under any Java once the tool is done with?
    It is only the tool that needs JavaFX. Not the generated code/
    Kishor Bhagwat
    @aaaaarrrgghhh_twitter
    that makes sense.

    @minborg

    i had a jre8 from oracle, just pointed to that and it worked
    didnt want to register with Oracle for 11
    Did i misunderstand the licensing? I chose the less than 500MB DB one - it has generated some java files in src/main - but I don't see anything in the TreeView below my DBname
    Kishor Bhagwat
    @aaaaarrrgghhh_twitter
    i'm using MariaDB, does this license work with Hyperstream only?
    Kishor Bhagwat
    @aaaaarrrgghhh_twitter
    ok, deleted speedment.json and ran tool again - now I see the tables
    Kishor Bhagwat
    @aaaaarrrgghhh_twitter
    aw shucks, now Generate fails

    If you could mail me the speedment.json file, I could have a look at it later today. Note that the json file contains all the metadata for your database.

    I got through - for some reason the json has a ? after one of the column names, even though the actual DB doesnt have that ?
    Per-Åke Minborg
    @minborg
    Ok. Great that you found it! Really strange
    Kishor Bhagwat
    @aaaaarrrgghhh_twitter
    well, i've been struggling with it since morning now
    found multiple ? added to other columns

    @aaaaarrrgghhh_twitter
    ok. My environment is MariaDB, jdk 1.8 on Windows, and I want to quickly get a Spring Boot App with REST API up and running. I'm a bit confused from reading the user guide and tutorials.
    I've selected Spring with the Initializr, and downloaded the zip.
    They refer to a Main.java file - but I don't have that from the Initializr download - just a src folder and a pom.xml. Fine - I just make one.
    Then I'm not sure - do I write a Setup.class as some tutorials suggest, or just use the Main. class?
    I went with just the Main.class, assuming the SpringConfiguration will be taken care of.
    Then I select Run As..Spring Boot App.
    It asks me if I want to run Main or PartnerDbEntryPoint (why?)
    I choose Main
    I hit this error:
    Caused by: com.speedment.runtime.core.exception.SpeedmentException: Field 'THEIR_MAIN_COMPETITORS' in manager 'com.xxx.PartnermasterManagerImpl@96ac3062' referred to a column that couldn't be found in config model.
    What is config model?

    Hi, does speedment support json column types in the database. I see you can covert queried data to json with the json plugin. If not supported, are there any alternatives to storing retrieving json. My app is extensible and planning to store customer defined attributes as json name value pairs in the json column.
    Per-Åke Minborg
    @minborg
    Yes. json columns can be mapped to String.

    hi minborg
    i need to close the mysql connection in this case
    we need to call stop method right?
    .stop()
    Per-Åke Minborg
    @minborg
    Yes. That is correct. All the connections will be released upon stop
    vishnuvijaypr
    @vishnuvijaypr

    @shreyanshrs44 Hi! Great that you want to help out! You could check if you could have a look at: speedment/speedment#863
    Check out DbmsOperationHandlerImpl to begin with. You also need to sign the CLA as per https://github.com/speedment/speedment/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md
