@spencergibb @dsyer I got it working but have no real idea why this made it work
All I did was add this to the pom.xml, no other changes.
        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.springframework.plugin</groupId>
            <artifactId>spring-plugin-core</artifactId>
        </dependency>
I say no other changes. I did have a typo but that didn’t matter

That would explain it. It would also be included if you used the s-b-starter-hateoas.
It triggers some Jackson module configuration that matches the server.
If you prefer not to use HAL you could also remove that from the server

My thought was to keep it simple, to use Spring Data Rest for most of the API's
That being the case I would need the HAL part
And sure enough with spring-boot-starter-hateoas it works fine

Hi guys I am trying to run the spring-cloud-samples configserver. Every time I try to fetch config I always get a NoSuchLabel exception regardless of whether I am using a label or defaulting to master. Even the app health check is failing with the same error. Is this a known issue?

I don't know about it
Seems to work for me
Is there a forward proxy in your environment?

Thanks Dave, we do have a proxy is there config to support that?

Nothing special. Just normal proxy config for git/Java.
You can either use ~/.git/config or the regular Java system properties.
Or both I guess. But either works.

I have cloned the config repo inside our network let's see if that works...

You mean you cloned it on the command line?
And you will point the config server at the clone?

Correct. I cloned on the command line and pushed it into our internal centralised git repo but that hasn't made any difference. Is the URI to get config http://localhost:8888/foo or http://localhost:8888/bar or whatever and the service should serve the contents of the foo.properties or bar.properties files?
You need at least a profile name
You can get the literal content of foo.properties (with config server 1.1) if that's what you need

Now that I figured out how to include the right dependency for a Eureka aware RestTemplate. (Thanks to @dsyer) Is there an example of setting up the Decoder for Feign to work with SDR?
