Hi all -- I'm seeing an interesting issue when running a Spring Boot app with @EnableEurekaServer -- all of the code seems to be respecting my custom log4j.properties file except the background threads Eureka itself is running; it seems to be using the log4j.properties packaged in org.springframework.boot.logging.log4j. Is this something other folks have run into?

What version of Spring Cloud?
I don't use log4j but I haven't noticed what you said
we had to do some violence to Eureka to break its dependency on log4j
so it's possible there's a remnant of that

I missed the violence on log4j -- I'm not married to it. Logback works with the Eureka server?

That ended up being a rhetorical question -- using logback solved the problem. Thanks!

Question: I've got a cloud-config-client that just started choking on an XML property that seemed to be working fine previously. Essentially we're getting a WstxUnexpectedCharException when trying to consume an array property as XML. The generated payload is
<info.config.audio.files[0]>...</info.config.audio.files[0]>
<info.config.audio.files[1]>...</info.config.audio.files[1]>
Technically it's not valid XML, but I'm surprised we're blowing up on it now when it hasn't been a problem before

Not sure where config client and xml mix.

Does the config server provide the data as xml? Or does it default to json?

json, but now I’m remembering something about xml if there’s certain libraries on the class path.
