The post on spring-cloud-stream 1.0.0 release mentions that one of the items on the roadmap for 1.1.0+ is "Adding new types of binders such as JMS or Kinesis". I'm just wondering how automatically creating queues/topics (for Dataflow etc.) will work with JMS. Haven't looked into it much but I'm assuming JMS 2.1 doesn't provide an API for creating queues/topics. So just wondering how this would be implemented, unless the queues/topics must be created beforehand?

I guess

I'm wondering this because unfortunately Kafka is very new to a bank, so we'll be needing to create a custom binder over IBM MQ...

MQ Series would require pre-administrated queues
I guess you could work with a small number of them and split the traffic based on a header
Which bank are you talking about?

Ok, thanks for the hint. Haven't started yet but sure it'll be fun

I know plenty of banks where RabbitMQ isn't too strange
And if it's provided by a platform (like Cloud Foundry) it's less likely to be an issue even with banks that don't have Rabbit now (I'm working with a couple in that category as well)

Urm, not sure I can divulge that here (can send elsewhere, Twitter DM...). There are murmurings of Rabbit somewhere but MQ was slated early on and we're getting MQ appliances etc. Bit late in the game to change messaging stack for initial go live...
but moving off MQ might be an option later. Politics :)
