@theoptimiste then I guess the default should be fine (i.e. do nothing unless you feel you need to)
@rozhok I think you are the expert in this.
It's better to shutdown processes gracefully of course
You have to have a really good reason not to IMO
But if something bad happens and you can't do it properly, you will have stale eureka registrations.
They might take a few minutes to expire
and the client (e.g. ribbon) is supposed to deal with failures in the mean time.

@dsyer thank you :)

@dsyer for some reason ECS did not shut down containers gracefully, will look at this.
Seems that ribbons

  MaxAutoRetries: 3
  MaxAutoRetriesNextServer: 3

will do the trick. Will test it and probably back here with results :)

I am looking for an example for SSO with a zuul app-gateway and some services behind that (e.g. a UI and some REST based service). Any hints?

Have you seen @dsyer's angular tutorials? Here's done that. Search the blog. On a phone at the moment.

I checked this one but it is not quite clear how this works when it is split up in multiple parts (gateway and services). I also checked the spring-boot docs chapter 28 and the spring cloud security docs.
