Didn't find a chat for Spring-cloud-task, but I was wondering how it would be used? Tasks that is. Is the idea that it should start a new JVM with a task, or is it a running JVM that e.g. exposes a REST resource that would start specific tasks?

It could be either I think (the abstraction diesnt care)

@dsyer , When I create a application with RestControllers (Tomcat starts and exposes resources), and also add @EnableTask, the application always shuts down. Know if there is a way to stop that?
I removed the @EnableTask and then the web server does not shut down
Seems maybe the TaskLifecycleListener shuts it down

That abstraction (@EnableTask) is tied to a spring application context, I believe, not a process
There is no ongoing work that I am aware of though, that would make the distinction
(I.e. All the existing apps and samples are one task per process)
