@sprgn what is your use case in wanting the config server to not resolve the property place holders in plain text files? I think you can escape the placeholder symbol per this note in the documentation:
Normal, Spring environment placeholders with "${}" can be escaped (and resolved on the client) by using backslash ("\") to escape the "$" or the "{", e.g. \${} resolves to "bar" unless the app provides its own "". Note that in YAML you don’t need to escape the backslash itself, but in properties files you do, when you configure the overrides on the server.
I think that might work with plain text files too, but you'd have to test.
