Well, the implementation of isRefreshScopeEnabled() that you showed before wasn't working, was it?
I was suggesting a different way of implementing it

So I’m using Eureka with a host of docker containers that I’m bringing up with docker compose, it seems as though I can’t use the host name in my eureka config?
Do I need to configure something to allow it? If I change it to the Eureka host container IP address it works as expected

use whatever works
eureka knows nothing of docker

I’d rather use the hostname, lol.

but what good is it if the hostname isn't routeable?
Stephen Gream

Well, if I log into the docker container I can ping and curl the eureka server
So it’s definitely routable
I dunno if I’ve run into a bug or what, but the fact I can change it to the IP and have it work makes me a little suspicious of it

so, something else is going on then

Yeah, that something else is what I’m trying to figure out

what doesn't work?

I don’t have it in front of me, hang on I’ll grab a config from the internet and change it to show what I mean
eureka:
  client:
    serviceUrl:
      defaultZone: http://eureka_server:8761/eureka/
So that will give me a “Host name cannot be null!” type error

But if I cange that to
eureka:
  client:
    serviceUrl:
      defaultZone: http://192.168.54.2:8761/eureka/
That will work just fine

Yeah, I had the same question as I was typing it out
Bit difficult to spot that kind of thing at 1am, but I’ll try with the hyphen and come back and whinge some more tonight if I can’t get it working. Thanks guys!
