@marcschumacher i toyed with aws lambda and spring function and i’m a little turned off by slow init time of spring function
lambda powers down after 10mins of idle. i’m worried about the next user or users who fire this up as it has a higher potential for timing out

@chad_d_stud_twitter It's def. a tradeoff. Really depends on the usage pattern. We're running SCF on Lambda (as a Kinesis handler), with pretty high traffic density - so no real chance of cold starts, and are really quite happy with it.
That said, the memory requirements can be a bit hard to control (and keep down). Especially since startup time is directly correlated (more memory == more CPU power on lambda)

yeah it usually eats up a lot of ram during startup. no problems once it’s up though

Exactly. I guess graal's native-image is a very promising match, as it would mitigate that issue
