Hello there - we have eureka & zuul setup for microservices. A new service which runs as a batch once everyday, need to use another service(service-B) which is registered with eureka. Is it mindful to register batch service in eureka or to use zuul endpoint to access service-B? Thoughts please.
It creates some huge volume of request to service-B

If setting up a Spring Cloud Config Server with multiple backends (i.e. git & vault), is there a way that if an incoming request does not contain the X-Config-Token header to just ignore the vault backend and only talk to the git backend? I asked this on StackOverflow as well

I am working Spring boot+ Vault with sts tool and working fine but when I tried this vault in IntelJ its giving spring.cloud.vault must not be empty.
I am using same bootstrap.yml in both tools

dont suggest to use micro service to batch huge traffic, even though build it for this
first in head unless your system'load could handle the traffic

It's currently running as batch without using eureka or zuul , directly referring to client app url

Currently handling traffic isn't an issue as such

if no backend service,it's ok
about the config issue, you may look into composite mode I suppose

Never heard any batch service using eureka like service discovery.. is that right way to do

@ziaur25 We are using Spring Cloud Task for our batch workflows and there are occasions where a batch job needs to make calls into our monolithic spring services. The batch job does not register with Eureka, but it certainly uses the ribbon client for load-balancing/fail-over when making those calls. So summary batch jobs : Use ribbon and eureka to make calls out of your batch job, no need to register your batch job with Eureka.

We are using spring cloud config to fetch properties from our config repo. We have a use case to fallback to Oracle jdbc in case the git repo in unreachable for some reason. For this we configured composite property source with git being the primary (having order=1. While testing we found that if the git repo is unreachable the application startup itself fails. I saw on the document that such case will fail the creation of composite properties itself.. but wanted to ask for suggestions to fallback to Oracle in case git is unreachable.. TIA
