I have two models (kotlin data classes) linked through a manytomany relationship (pg database)
when I want to do A.allofB.size where allofB is the manytomany field that link A to B (through a join table)
I get in infinite recursion
I've dealt with infinite recursion when serializing my data (Json), but in that case I am not serializing anything…
(and the two manytomany sides are LAZY)
If I remove the manytomany field on the class B, then I can run that (but I cannot find all the A linked to an object B from an object of type B)
I can't find a way to have the both sides of that manytomany relation
(and I am NOT using serialization here)
I am wondering if it could be an issue with kotlin data classes that may want to hash the objects anyway
(as I am using sets)
bjonnh
@bjonnh
(and that seem to be the case as turning them all into normal classes "solve" the issue)

Hello.
Did anyone try to import multi maven spring boot project using intellij community edition ?
Unable to find find projects recursively

any idea why /actuator/metrics/vm.threads.states gives me a 404 ? /actuator/metrics displays the list, but I cannot get the details for a metric?

Hi all, I want to test a special flyway migration step....

Me again, is someone maybe having an idea how I could solve my problem? Or is my question to special? Am I asking in the wrong channel? Would be nice to get some feedback! :)

hi
James Howe
@OrangeDog
The 2.2.2 -> 2.2.3 update appears to have broken properties loading via @ActiveProfiles("test"). Maybe #19556 but there are no commas involved...
Olan Byrne
@olanb7
hey all - is there any way to enable the use of 'block()' on a flux/mono with spring boot 2.2? trying to override a method in a third party lib..
James Howe
@OrangeDog
As far as I can tell, @ActiveProfiles used to replace the profiles, but now it adds to them
Ah yes: #19788

@NielsDoucet
Just to double check: https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-boot/wiki/Spring-Boot-2.1-Release-Notes#third-party-library-upgrades
Tomcat 9 is the baseline. Spring boot no longer guarantees to work with older version, right?
That’s for the embedded container though

Hi All, i am having an issue with Spring data insertion into msqyl for utf-8 character like this 𝛂, it is inserting the character into the column like this '?'
Andy Wilkinson
@wilkinsona
Sounds like an encoding problem. Have you enabled UTF-8 or similar everywhere?
SRITHARAN MAHENDRA BABU
@Srithar-ccs
yeah , i have enable utf-8 in the mysql database, like set name utf-8 and also tried utf8mb4
i think it has got something to do with java hibernate pipleline, because when i try to insert the data from datagrip it works fine
which is like the DB is configured fine, i think

Hi! how can I force one of my app's @Configuration @Beans to be loaded before an @AutoConfiguration one? My local bean instantiation actions a side-effect that is relevant to the @AutConfiguration bean runtime instantiation logic. The thing is both have as a dependency a previosusly autoconfigured bean
nightswimmings
@nightswimmings
Is there such a thing as @IsDependedBy as opposed to @DependsOn? I cannot edit my third-party libs
nightswimmings
@nightswimmings
Or @InitializeBefore
nightswimmings
@nightswimmings
It must be a way with BeanPostProcessor and InitializzingBean
Scott Frederick
@scottfrederick
@nightswimmings you could make your app configuration auto-configuration (e.g. register it in META-INF/spring.factories org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.EnableAutoConfiguration and use @AutoConfigureBefore

Hey! Am I the only one having problem fetching 2.1.12.RELEASE from mvn central? I see it here https://search.maven.org/artifact/org.springframework.boot/spring-boot-dependencies/2.1.12.RELEASE/pom but not here https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.springframework.boot/spring-boot-dependencies and I get release not found when trying to build it in my project. Any sync issue going on?
nightswimmings
@nightswimmings
@scottfrederick mmmh that is pretty clever. Thanks for the suggestion!
nightswimmings
@nightswimmings
Looks like it has no effect. At least on test (spring.factories on main)

Is there a way to catch error at the moment of bean creation and change application behavior? (I want the application to have less functions if that resource isn't available)
(it as a JavaFX/Spring application, if it cannot connect to a specific database, a specific tab shouldn't appear)
nightswimmings
@nightswimmings
debug: true shows it as an unconditional autoconfigration, but ConfigureBefore does not work
Brian Clozel
@bclozel
@jebeaudet mvnrepository is a 3rd party website indexing maven repositories. maven.org is the source of truth. Issues have been recently reported on https://issues.sonatype.org/ about 404s/CDN sync issues but it seems that artifacts are there. Do you have an exact error message?
nightswimmings
@nightswimmings
@scottfrederick Got it with
    @Bean
    public BeanFactoryPostProcessor dependsOnPostProcessor() {
        return (beanFactory) -> beanFactory.getBeanDefinition("AutConfiguredBean").setDependsOn("locallyConfiguredBean");
    }
Andy Wilkinson
@wilkinsona
@konstantinblaesi Typo? The metric is named jvm.threads.states not vm.threads.states.

hi i get mock server which is jar but i'm getting problem to start webscoket i always get 101 error can someone quickly point me where i can check cors ?
boda2004
@boda2004
101 is not error (if you mean http code)
dadochudy
@dadochudy
websocket uses http handshake
ti should switch from http handshake to websocket connection if understand it correctly
boda2004
@boda2004
i assume that you're talking about http code, and thi is a part of typical websocket connection process
like
HTTP/1.1 101 Switching Protocols
Upgrade: websocket
Connection: Upgrade
dadochudy
@dadochudy
i'm not java developer i just get the mockserver but when i try to connect from front end to webscoket i get error 101
if i unzip jar file and add some dependency do i need to compile it :D
