Hey, I just wanted to say that I got the deprication message about the css-sprite module, and I can't wait to switch to sprity. :)
Alexander Slansky
@aslansky
Hey, thanks for stopping by. You're welcome to give it a try. Hopefully there are not to many bugs ;-).
Cristiano Becker
@cristianobecker
hi! Is there a reason to sprity-less print the "layout" outside the ".sprite()" mixin? This is nonconforming the readme.md. Or I got it wrong
Alexander Slansky
@aslansky
hi. mh, either I got the documentation wrong or the template has a bug. could you please open an issue in github and post your resulting less file?
it's quite late here and I don't wont to forget to check this :smile:

Is it possible to send options to the image processing engine from gulp?
Alexander Slansky
@aslansky
Yes. Just the same as the other options
Benjamin
@benjaminx3000
so like:
{
   engine:"sprity-lwip({lwip-interpolation: 'cubic'})"
}
Alexander Slansky
@aslansky
No just {engine:'lwip','lwip-interpolation':'cubic'}
sorry for no line breaks but I am on my phone and don't know how to do without sending the message :-)
Benjamin
@benjaminx3000
Rad! Thanks. Great product!

Hi, I was trying to pass through the interpolation option to sprity-lwip like you suggested but it doesn't seem to work. I logged the options inside of sprity-lwip and it looks like when you pass through the option at the same level as the engine the value is inside an inner options object and opt['lwip-interpolation'] is undefined when used in scaleImage. opt.options['lwip-interpolation'] has the value. What is your recommended way of initialising the value to be cubic? Cheers for the module
Alexander Slansky
@aslansky
Thanks for the info. I will have a look and fix it soon
mattpattinson
@mattpattinson
Line 73 of sprity-lwip index.js could be : var interpolation = opt['lwip-interpolation'] || opt.options['lwip-interpolation'] || 'lanczos'; if you wanted to allow the option to be passed in like that. Cheers

@ZeeCoder

Hi, I've been struggling with sprity for a while.
What I'm trying to achieve is to use the "split" option, save the generated sprite images in a 'images/sprites' directory, and generate both css and scss files into another directory for each sprite image with the same name.

so for example, I could have two generated sprites in images/sprites: "sprites-icons.png" and "sprites-something.png", then I should have the following files too: "sprites-icons.css", "sprites-icons.scss", "sprites-something.css", "sprites-something.scss"

Is this achievable?

Alexander Slansky
@aslansky
Hey, right now no. At this point it will generate all the scss into one file.
Viktor Hubert
@ZeeCoder
Thanks! I think I can live with that, but in the meanwhile I think I found some bugs.

Hello, right now i am looking for ready solution for sprite-generation, but we have a lot of icons for states like hover, pressed and disabled in our project. Is there any how-to for correct file-naming and template creating for that case? As i understand from sprity/sprity#27 there is no clean out-of-the box solution?
Alexander Slansky
@aslansky
Unfortunately no.
Greg Schechter
@gregthebusker
Hey all, I wrote a style processor for sprity call sprity-js. https://www.npmjs.com/package/sprity-js
@nightphobos You could use this example to do easy mostly automatic hover states. https://github.com/gregthebusker/sprity-js#programmatic-checking

After compare of all this methods - I prefer to do make manual sprite file, some Less mixins-helpers, and manual class definitions based on them

Hey! I have a question regarding the way that sprity is exporting the images. Is there any possibility to detect when an image is repeated in order to avoid that the image will be added and just put the css rule into the file?

I am new to iPhone development. I am interested in making app games on Xcode. To my understanding it was recommended that I learn Sprite and Swift. Am I on the right track?
