Hi guys, I just wanted to tell you that spyder is already informing users about the new version 3.3 on startup, although it is currently not yet in the standard anaconda package nor in the spyder-ide channel. Is there some automatic build mechanism broken?
I'm just saying because the pop-up box brings you directly to the release notes, where it it tells users that installing this version can be done by conda update, which by now isn't yet true...

@ccordoba12 Can we have that popup check against the latest version in conda, rather than PyPI, to avoid user annoyance and confusion (since the majority of our users use conda, as we ourselves strongly recommend?

Ahh, I just saw, that the newest version is available via the conda-forge channel...

However, I'm getting an issue reported on startup after the upgrade...
File "/home/hofinger/anaconda3/envs/tf_v18GPU/lib/python3.6/site-packages/spyder/app/mainwindow.py", line 1961, in valid_project
if bool(self.projects.get_active_project_path()):
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_active_project_path'

I'll file a bug report later if it stays consistent...

Thanks very much for the heads up. spyder --reset likely will fix it, but please do double check for us first; I can try it myself tomorrow morning since its very late here in the USA.

Yes, we need to do that.

@hofingermarkus, I already fixed that error. It's going to be part of 3.3.1
