I tried to find a menu item or a right click item which will format the code, as in the proper indentation ...etc

Answering your unstated question, Fix indentation sounds like it should do it, but confusingly all it actually does is convert tabs to spaces, which is sufficiently unuseful and uncommon that I simply assumed it was completely broken and opened the issue spyder-ide/spyder#5565 . Essentially, that evolved into renaming the current command to something much much more sensible (e.g. Convert Tabs to Spaces) and adding functionality more worthy of the name. Its currently pegged for Spyder 4 beta 2, and thus the latter part hasn't yet been implemented, but we really should at least fix the name in Spyder 3 so it isn't so misleading.

Precisely, as I explained above.

Again, to repeat what I said previously, we have tentatively planned to add such a feature in Spyder 4, but right now all that command does is convert Tabs to Spaces, despite the very confusing name.

Sorry, but that doesn't really have anything to do with Spyder (or even Python specifically) and is rather an operating system issue. I recommend Googling the problem.
