@paulgureghian_twitter, that's not possible in Spyder. You have to copy/paste the contents of your script into a notebook

Yep, that's correct. It'd be an interesting project to transform Spyder cells to notebook cells, but so far we don't have that funcionality, sorry

A block of code created when you introduce a comment of the form # %% into your file
Those blocks can be evaluated independently by pressing Shift+Enter (run cell and advance to the next one) or Ctrl+Enter (run cell and stay in the same one) when you're on a cell

you mean comments that are inserted between lines of code , and the code between comments becomes a cell ?
