Spyder only supports Qt5/PyQt5 since Spyder 3.3.0, as both Qt4 and PyQt4 have been end of life for many years now. Please upgrade to Qt 5/PyQt 5 (
conda install qt=5.9.6 pyqt=5.9.2) and make sure no duplicate qt4/pyqt4/pyside installations remain, and try again. If that doesn't work, try downgrading to qt 5.6 (
conda install pyqt=5.6), installing pyopengl (
conda install pyopengl), and installing Spyder in a clean environment (
conda create -n your-env-name-here python=3, then
activate your-env-name-here and finally
conda install spyder) and updating your OS and graphics drivers.
