Hi there, when I run a script and "pause" it using the input() fcn I can't see any variable definitions in the variable explorer. Do I need to instead do something with the debugger to view my workspace variables in a particular function? (background: I'm familiarizing myself with someone else's code before I modify it)

@gurt1987 Yeah, so the idiomatic way of doing that is to drop a breakpoint on the line(s) you want to look at from the Spyder GUI (double-click to the right of the line number), or to use the breakpoint() builtin in Python 3.7/import pdb; pdb.set_trace() in earlier versions, or one of the other ways of setting a breakpoint. We're in the process of implementing a new, much more powerful debugging kernel for Spyder 4, so you should see major improvements in the debugger soon (along with many other enhancements).
