@zzzeek
can someone fix upt he patch? id like 1.4.0b2 to come out soonish and with all this stuff behind it
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
we can still do >0.4.17 after they release the next version
to remove the check
mike bayer
@zzzeek
@CaselIT but that will force everyone to upgrade their greenlet, which is not a big deal i guess
greenlet has been aroudn for so long it's wierd we need this super recent version of it
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
I think having that check is fine
mike bayer
@zzzeek
@CaselIT great
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
I would not support 0.4.17 since we would have to do 3 different things
mike bayer
@zzzeek
agree
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
I think the author here sqlalchemy/sqlalchemy#5616 is on top of things, I think we can just comment there
mike bayer
@zzzeek
@fantix :)

Fantix King

@fantix we want to finish up sqlalchemy/sqlalchemy#5616, do a quick detection for greenlet > 0.4.17 and we will block 0.4.17 itself
@CaselIT OK if oyu can give me green checkmarks in gerrit
you all have to understand i am very old now. anything I "look" at makes me very sleepy :)
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
I've left a comment in the pr, I think it's ready to go in gerrit after it
mike bayer
@zzzeek
OK
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
for alembic, I've started work on the identity stuff
mike bayer
@zzzeek
oh wow I think I just hit a bug in my prtogerrit thing
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
mike bayer
@zzzeek
@CaselIT OK

oh wow I think I just hit a bug in my prtogerrit thing

Yeah, I just got 3 emails. First one normal and then two "empty" ones.

mike bayer
@zzzeek
well I wanted to add you both to look at that PR
but apparnetlty when you select three reviewers at once the messaging received by the script wasnt ready for that, OK
OK
OK anything else ?
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
not for me.
Gord Thompson
@gordthompson
I'm good. Time for a "brisk" walk.
mike bayer
@zzzeek
great
thanks all!
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
@zzzeek I've reviewed https://gerrit.sqlalchemy.org/c/sqlalchemy/sqlalchemy/+/2376 but I've not merged it
mike bayer
@zzzeek
@CaselIT great

mike bayer
@zzzeek
@gordthompson I put up a gerrit that should fix it
mike bayer
@zzzeek
just bought a $20 power meter. the d2 machine was drawing about 100W when idle (!!!!)
thats my oldest dell that I bought used
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
that seems high
mike bayer
@zzzeek
yes!
its 40% of my whole rack here that has like 20 things plugged in!
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
are you planning on replacing it?
mike bayer
@zzzeek
shrugs
i wish jenkins would fix that cloud bug so i could use digital ocean more reliably
im sad b.c. this was an old machine i bought,then it died and I went through all the trouble to buya new motherboard and do the whole fix and it worked
like i successfully diagnosed the issue
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
I've always assembled my own desktop pcs, so it did happen to me a couple of times. My current one is a ~2014 vintage I think
mike bayer
@zzzeek
im going to hypotehsize that pcs running linux are lower power consumption when idle vs. a windows pc
Federico Caselli
@CaselIT
But I guess you could find some used amd zen pc for cheap as people upgrade to zen3. And they have 12-16 cores :)
