    @frelev
    you´ve heard of it? :)
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    I don't use it really but yes
    frelev
    @frelev
    ok
    Spotty is the plugin for LMS
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    if favourites can work then that's easier. Problem is it's not LMS native I guess so relies on plugins
    I guessed
    frelev
    @frelev
    oK I see
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    Perhaps add a feature request on Github for this
    frelev
    @frelev
    will try that out
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    So long as it's doable on the LMS CLI (most things are) then it's doable
    frelev
    @frelev
    ah nice
    Its Mherger that did Spotty
    been involved in LMS since way back
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    OK well yes please create a feature request on github then
    frelev
    @frelev
    Will do

    @frelev
    After adding British English it seems the skill understands me better
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    @frelev great, I thought maybe it would...
    frelev
    @frelev
    any point of upgrading if you run 2.0.1?
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    @frelev probably not really if you've set everything up already. A few security improvements but no real features improvements. I've spent so much time doing the automation / DevOps / documentation / security / dockerisation that features have taken a back seat...

    Hi. I'm struggling to get MQTT working. Where do I find the hostname for the Internet MQTT server?
    Prog72
    @Prog72
    Ignore that, I've found it. i may have more questions though as I delve deeper.
    Prog72
    @Prog72
    No, it's still not working. The endpoint must not be what I think it is.
    Prog72
    @Prog72
    Fixed now. I was missing a character. This is such a struggle as the docs are written by techies for techies which leads me think that a copy & paste error is something bigger!
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    @Prog72 Glad you got it working. If there's anything we can improve in the docs that would have helped you (or help the next person), please let me know

    Hey there, just wanted to let you know I got this working today, thanks for all your hard work. I used stunnel and Entware on a Synology NAS, following instructions at https://github.com/Entware/Entware/wiki/Install-on-Synology-NAS. Subtle difference is that it creates /opt under root not /Apps/opt, so a few tweaks needed to SSL.md.
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    @roymstaple_twitter Great! And I'll update the docs around the more official Entware howto, thanks for the heads-up

    @JohnKendrick
    Hi Im seeing the following errors when I try and follow the installation instructions. When i say "Alexa ask squeezebox choose player 1". Alexa responds with "Doh, no players found". I put debug on the mqtt server and I get this...

    /mqtt_squeeze.py
    Connected to Squeezeserver CLI
    Connecting to {'hostname': 'a16peerzhmk5vo-ats.iot.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com', 'cert_dir': '/home/john/Software/squeeze-alexa/etc/certs', 'port': 8883, 'internal_server_hostname': '192.168.1.50', 'topic_req': 'squeeze-req', 'topic_resp': 'squeeze-resp', 'debug': True}
    Connect: No error.

    @declension
    @JohnKendrick weird. Sounds like your ports have got mixed up perhaps
    i.e. mqtt_squeezeis trying to talk LMS CLI but on the LMS web port
    John Kendrick
    @JohnKendrick
    Ah, sounds like I misunderstood which port to use. So I should be using 9090?
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    erm think so, let me check
    @JohnKendrick yes 9090
    (the default, see settings.py under LmsSettings.CLI_PORT
    John Kendrick
    @JohnKendrick
    OK, I'll try that and let you know. I have kept a log of what I did to make things work, so if it would be helpful I will send it on to you. Can I send it you as file?
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    Maybe check it works first :)
    John Kendrick
    @JohnKendrick
    That seems to have solved it....
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    Excellent!
    John Kendrick
    @JohnKendrick
    Indeed, it was a steep learning curve
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    This is what everyone says actually
    (me too in fact)
    John Kendrick
    @JohnKendrick
    Thanks for all the work you have put in.
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    My pleasure. Labour of love slightly, but it's good to hear reports when people get it all working (and learn lots along the way sometimes). I think you're the first active report of using the MQTT transport, so that's extra good
    John Kendrick
    @JohnKendrick
    How best to send you my log?
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    @JohnKendrick you can PM me on here if you'd like
    Or raise a Github issue and attach there, assuming there's nothing sensitive there. But best of all is a modify the HOWTOs on GitHub and submit a Pull Request

    Howdy - I had Squeeze-alexa working perfectly for months using stunnel on my Mac and LMS on a Synology diskstation but recently I migrated LMS to the Mac and Squeeze-Alexa was working perfectly there too, but something changed in the last two weeks where Alexa says she cannot access the SSL tunnel via port 19090 - I ran all the troubleshooting tests and the tunnel is up and working and connects to the LMS and I can connect to the tunnel and get the correct responses manually, but for some reason Alexa cannot. Anyone else have this issue?
    I've checked the firewall, ports, etc. and am going to try rebuilding squeeze-alexa but wanted to check if anyone else is having issues
    P C
    @htcheng
    OK - so it appears that it was an stunnel permissions problem on Mojave - all working again!
    Nick Boultbee
    @declension
    @htcheng great to hear (sorry hadn't seen this message)
