btw, @leog https://standards.github.io/learn#create-a-new-standard does not works currently.
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
@tunnckoCore I can see it working, basically it jumps to the Learn page on the "Create a new standard" section highlighting it... what do you see?
BTW, any luck on getting feedback or help for the initiative?
Richard Littauer
@RichardLitt
Interesting.
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
Hi @RichardLitt. Let us know if you have any feedback 👍
Richard Littauer
@RichardLitt
It looks pretty good, so far
Some actual standard would be good - at the moment, I'm not sure if you're just starting, or if you have standards in mind
What is the scope of a standard, basically?
Fox George Penguin
@olstenlarck
@RichardLitt "you"... It is not just "you" or "us" specifically. The whole open source and not only has tons of very good standards. The project scopes isn't javascript specific.
The php PSR standards is example, StandardJS too
It is just all about you to come and adjust to the standard of the standards that we call "meta" - just a basic kinda "standard" how to describe your standard. And in that meta standard we have validation process, because each standard should be repository
The whole thing is very great described by @leog in the meta and in the site.

Some actual standard would be good

You can move your Standard Readme, Feross the StandardJS

@leog as aboute the feedback, not much luck, no answers in twitter.

@hzlmn
Hi all, while working on some shell related tool, I discover that specification about parsing sh (AST, Tokens) is pretty poor, more said there is no such spec. So it would be nice to have one. Is it in scope of this project?
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
Hi @hzlmn. Actually the idea of this project is to gather best practices related to different kinds of tech projects in order to have a knowledge base to easily work cross-projects that follow standards
Is not really about missing specifications but to gather the best ways to construct something following stuff we can all agree on
take a look at the homepage for more information: https://standards.github.io

@RichardLitt
I mean standards, @tunnckoCore
this organization is new.
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
Hey @tunnckoCore. Quick update on the initative, I went ahead and supported external repositories to be a standard through Git Submodules which also enabled having a web version of the standards. Also I implemented a custom badges server to show accurate information about the standard that is complied with and the version. Both changes can be seen with the meta standard at https://standards.github.io/standard/meta
code for the badges is at https://github.com/standards/badges, a cache is desperately needed for obvious reasons
Leo Giovanetti
@leog
the legend for the badges is available at https://standards-badges.now.sh/legend and will be part of the webpage documentation shortly under the Learn section cc: @feross

@leog
BTW, I'm working on the same Standards initiative over at Autodesk as it is a HUGE company and everyone conceives software differently too, you will not be able to see it without the VPN but the public page for it refers to the OSS project http://standards.autodesk.com
