Tony Mtz
@TonyMtz
Me Goosta project is basically the same project that last year, lol. I didn't know we can repeat the source code just changing the styling
:smile:
Michael Bleigh
@mbleigh
@TonyMtz they didn't re-use code, we checked
Peter Willemsen
@peterwilli
Yeah you can end up with the same code but still make it from scratch
I mean WebRTC is webrtc, you can't really do it in different ways because eventually you have to call the apis that the browser gives you :P
besides GoInstant is dead so they kinda had to change xD (They used GoInstant last year)
@kevinchau there arent prices for 4 right?
I wanted to use the same GoInstant by the way

Here's How Judging Worked

in round one, judges were assigned a random batch of ten entries and asked to rank them in order from 1-10 as well as provide feedback

each team was evaluated by at least two (usually three or more) judges and the team's average ranking was determined from their evaluations

when round one finished, we picked a list of finalists by taking the top 20 (and one more who was tied for 20th) and then moved on to round two

round two we gave judges the list of all 21 finalists and asked them to pick their top five favorites and rank them in order. we then assigned point values (5 for 1st place down to 1 for 5th place pick). the teams with the most points after this round were our winners

Peter Willemsen
@peterwilli
that's why I found out it was dead
Michael Bleigh
@mbleigh
it's as fair a system as we could figure out how to do without mandating that judges each evaluate 100+ entries
Kevin Chau
@kevinchau

@mbleigh I only count 18 entries on the winners page, what happened to the other 3(?) of the top 21 finalists?
Kevin Chau
@kevinchau
they never got points
Michael Bleigh
@mbleigh
they weren't listed in anyone's top 5 of the finalists
John
@johnballantyne

John
@johnballantyne

Judges Feedback is Now Live

You can see private feedback at http://2015.staticshowdown.com/team and public feedback on your team's entry page

Peter Willemsen
@peterwilli

I'm going to sleep really well with this in mind

Peter Willemsen
@peterwilli
good night!
daskalou
@daskalou
@mbleigh Should every entry have private feedback? The link above (http://2015.staticshowdown.com/team) just shows me general team info (Production Deploy Status, Your Team ID, GitHub Repo etc.)
Michael Bleigh
@mbleigh
@daskalou not necessarily. judges got to leave either public or private or both
